Driver for psc quickscan 6000 plus scanner

Hi!

Your PSC QuickScan 6000 should not require any drivers. If this unit plugs into your keyboard port, you should be able to scan a barcode and view the data results in a text editor, such as Notepad. This technology is called "Keyboard Wedge" and consists of a cable with three ends. The first is plugged into your hand-held scanner. The second and third are rather close together and are at the end of the cable. This cable is called a "Y" cable because it resembles the uppercase letter "Y". The bottom part of the "Y" plugs into your scanner, while the first upper part plugs into your computer. The second upper part of the "Y" should be a female plug, allowing you to plug your keyboard into it.

Now if you are using a Keyboard Wedge scanner with a USB keyboard, the female end of the "Y" cable would not have anything plugged into. Unfortunately, the scanner will most likely not operate properly if no keyboard is attached to the keyboard port.

I suspect you may have an RS232 or "serial" scanner. Does your scanner have a power supply that plugs into a standard wall outlet? If so, you may have a serial interface scanner. You could use a program called Com to Keyboard, which would convert RS232 or "serial" data into keyboard data. This is a free program, however, it is a resource hog and may slow your system down.

Feel free to call if you have any additional questions.
Good Luck & I Hope this helps!
-Dave

PSC 6000 Plus not scanning

There are a few questions:

What kind of cable do you use?
USB, SERIAL, PS2

What kind of computer?
Normal computer or Laptop?

Then...

When you recieve the scanner like new you always have to program it.

First you do

Reset to factory defaults.... Never do this with working scanners

then

you have to program it.

First the Connection type
and then if needed a computer type.

After that you usually have to scan a suffix.

This means when you scan a barcode it needs to do something after.

normally it doesn't give Enter after you scan.
That is what the suffix is for.

and then you scan additional symbologies to scan

Like Code 39, UPC A etc. etc.

It needs to be programmed with the manual you recieved.
if you don't have it you can download here.

http://www.scanning.datalogic.com/sitefiles/manuals.aspx

go down in the list to quickscan 6000
and programming manual.

please don't print all the pages. only what you need.

If you need more help i will hear it.

good luck.

I need an owners manual

You can download a manual (06656 User's Guide/Programming Guide) at the DataLogic site. They bought PSC in 2005.
http://www.scanning.datalogic.com/sitefiles/result.aspx?m=Product%20Manual&p=53XX&l=english&d=1&t=search&s=NonCurrent

If your cables are connected between your keyboard and PC, be sure to set up the correct Keyboard Wedge Parameters, beginning on Page 34, to allow connectivity.
I'd start by scannig barcodes "CE" and "ZA" to reset to default wedge values. If that doesn't work, I'd procede to sc an "CF" for PC=AT,PS/2.
Pages 36 & 37 address the Caps Lock issue, where the scanned value is in the wrong upper or lower case.

Have a nice day,

PSC QuickScan GP5385-104342 RS-232 / DOESN'T WORK!

I think the problem you all are having is that this model of scanner requires a "decoder" to work correctly. It is another box which goes in-line between the scanner and the RS-232 port or ps/2 port of the pc. I'm not 100% positive about this, but I am pretty sure this is the problem. You need to look on e-bay for a psc barcode decoder.
