If the wireless security on your router is set to WEP, you should use the long key that was generated from the passphrase for your wireless computer so it will connect fine and work to the internet...

My printer is asking me for a WPA passphrase in order to connect to the router. Where do I find this?

Your printer must have wireless capability. It is asking for your wireless security passphrase in order to join the wireless network. This passphrase is the key/phrase that you created when you setup your wireless network. You will need to login to your router and go to wireless setting section to find out what the passphrase is if you don't remember it. Thanks

When i go on to the website recomended (http://192.168.1.1) it tells me under the WLAN section everything except the WEP key and in the place where the WEP key should be it just says 64bit wep and i have...

You want to place a Passphrase into your Passphrase box. It can be anything you want but it must match the security strength set on the router (i.e. 40/64-bit, or 128 bit respectively. After you enter your passphrase click on the Generate button this will generate your WEP Key. You then use that Key for your key you enter into your wireless device. This should then get you connected to the router.

Hope that helps you.

Security key/ passphrase

The easiest workaround for this is to connect your laptop to the D-Link
with an ethernet cable.

Make sure your laptop IP address is configured for the same subnet
(example: 192.168.0.9)
Open your browser and go to http://192.168.0.1

Default username: user
Default password: (blank)

(This is of course assuming that you did not change your
default username/password)

Once you're in, change the passphrase to anything you want.
