Interesting problem. I recommend trying a reset of the video card. It's pretty easy, Sony has the instructions here.

Except for the scrambling and freezing, it sounds like an issue I had recently with my own system. Give this a try and please leave a comment on weather it worked or not.

Scrambled picture and freezing

This is most likely because the GPU which deals with all the graphics on your system overheating, to fix it you need to stop the heat build up.

You can either do this yourself or send it in and get it fixed.

Signal to tv is scrambled

Could be something as simple as the wrong settings on the TV/360. Also it could be an internal issue, generally associated with the (H) ANA chip (the chip responsible for E74) as it handles the video output. If it's not the settings, and if the console is under warranty send it in to MS. If not, find a reputable person to help you out with repair.

Yes I know what your problem is,and i know what will
fix it permanently.

The G.P.U. video feed contact's have come unsolder
from the main board , and are barley touching Thats
why it is intermittent.

The real solution is to re-flow the G.P.U and properly
secure it to the main board with the heatsink .Thats
what I do and it produces a reliable repair.

XBOX boots up find, but no picture..NEED HELP

This has happened to me before and its a solder issue, same as Red Ring of Death issue. Try to leave the 360 on for an hour and then let cool for 5min. If this doesn't work you can try the towel method, but if that still doesn't work, the best bet is to send to Microsoft. If you do take the 360 apart, try tightening or loosening the black screws on the bottom frame, located under the x-clamps, it may take some fine tuning. You may also find that completely removing the black screws will do the trick.073dd88.jpg

Scrambled screen

Based on my experience repairing this system, you need to take care of this problem right away before it gets worse and this is not an easy job for the average consumer. The best thing to do now is to call Microsoft and see if they will repair it for free because they are aware of this problem 1 800 4-MY XBOX. I don't know where you are, but I'll be happy to fix it for you.

Scrambled screen

Sounds like your touch screen is broken. Two choices. One: If it still has a warranty, then send it in to Nintendo for repair. Two: Search on sites like Ebay for replacement touch screens, and buy one. Then replace the faulty touch screen with the brand new touch screen.
