Question about Denon AVR-485 Receiver
My tv (Hitachi 51S500) has a DVI HDTV connector yet my new Blue-ray (Sony BDP-BX1) player comes with a HDMI cable. The two connector are, of course, different in shape. I have an existing Analog cable 1080i, 720p. so everything works well. What do I need to do to increase my quality to get digital HDMI quality?
Unless your TV is HDCP compliant (sorry, don't have to research this for you), you may not be able to watch Blu-Ray movies from your Blue-Ray player in 1080p. So first find out if your TV can do HDCP via the DVI port (i doubt it). If it can, you can get an HDMI-to-DVI adapter (you can find them real cheap off Amazon.com)
