when you replace a cartrige make sure you take off only the yellow tape .. if you take off the white tape also then the cart wont work anymore .. careful about using off brand ink .. i used the cheep stuff for about a year before they changed the formula without telling me .. it clogged the heads completely .. .. nice wide format printer .. hope you get it working ..
it sounds like you need a driver update for your printer although the most recent seems to be for earlier OS on the website. I would contact Epson and see what they can suggest if you want to continue to use this printer. I think though that you may have to consider printing to PDF format as a step you may have to accept.
WinXP has a built in driver - it misses a few small features of the Epson driver but works fine - go to Start\programs\printers and faxes\add printer and follow the prompts to install the "Epson Stylus COLOR 1520 ESC/P 2"
You first need to get a Parallel Printer to USB cable. Once you have that, in Vista, click add a printer, do the windows update, and Epson Stylus Color 1520 should appear. Now you need to make sure that the port being used is the Virtual USB Printing Port, for example USB001....and there you have it...
