Connecting electronic air filter to furnace fan

I have a Goodman heat pump unit, with an ARUF handler. I also have a Honeywell electronic air filter that is not currently connected. Where in the air handler can I connect the power for the filter so that it is only powered when the fan is running?

Yes, there is a small board but it doesn't appear to have any extra places for additional wire runs, or have anything marked "EAC" or similar.

Does that board have the heat cool and park connections on it?

Does the unit have a control board? Circuit board in other words.

You may need a "current sensing relay" to clip around the neutral wire on your blower.
Run the 120v power to the main power (the power switch- hot, neutral and ground) . Run the Hot wire through the "Current Sesing Relay" wires to the EAC unit's 120v. power input. The unit will only run when the fan is on.

Hope this helps,
Matt

Turn the thermostats fan position to Auto instead of ON. If it already is in Auto, then there is a fan relay stuck in the board.

CAPF3636C6AA where do I put the filter?

This model numbers associated with this post are for a heat pump system. Usually the filter is not located in these units but is located in the bottom of the air handler or furnace box. if it is not there then look either in the metal duct next to the air handler box or in the return grills in the living area of the home. I hope this helps:)

Airhandler- the themostat is on auto/I understand cool, heat.emerg heat,The (G) terminal-then why heat mode or,emer heat fan blows?Only when i switch to cool mode the handler still want start up blowing...

the fan fill come on with the sequencer (stack switch you call it) it will also come on with the fan relay. on some goodmans the fan relay is the black box on the circuit board. use a jumper to jump red to green, this should bring the fan on sounds like you could have a broken green wire, try using a different wire instead of green

I have a Goodman ARUF series air handler with a 10KW heat kit. The unit will not stop running and heats all the time. The thermastat is digital and is 3 years old.

your heat-relay aka heat sequencer, time delay... is stuck most likely remove and replace if it checks closed and no 24 volts is going to the timer portion.for 3 to 5 minutes. some of these switches stay closed for 3-5 minutes.after power is removed

What does aux mean on a honeywell Thermostat? the heat doesn't seem to be working but warm air is comming from the vents and the heat pump fan is spinning just not enough to match the temp. it's set too....

The aux switch is for electric heat banks installed in the air handler. Depending on the outside temp. it may not be efficient to run in heat pump mode but in aux. or emergency would run the electric heat in the air handler.

No heat after changing filter on honeywell 5-2 day prog. dig therm.

You may ahve knocked a float switch wire loose. Is this furnace or a Air Handler/heat pump. If it is a furnace you may not have the cover back on the furnace there is door switch that needs to be closed for it to operate. Get back with me on make and model of unit and I can give you more info.mRus

WHEN THE HEATER COMES ON THE FAN STARTS INSTANTLY AND BLOWS COLD

Do you have a heat pump? If so this is normal. You are probably used to a gas furnace. There are heat pumps that do have a delay though. Look on the circuit board in the air handler. There may be a set of pins that say 0-30-60-90 yours may be at 0. Also some digital T-stats offer that function for delay off to get the extra heat or cold from the system. Find out what the model number of the air handler and call the Goodman supplier in your area to see if you have these options.
If you have a gas furnace and it's not delaying the blower there is definately something wrong.

Need line set size for goodman ck-36-1a

If your running gas heat it's 5/8 3/8 tubing. If it's elec. heat it's 3/4 3/8 tubing. Etheirway 3/4 3/8 works for both. Use 6 wire for tstat from tstat to furnace or air handler, and you need is 2 wire from condensing unit [outside] to furnace or air handler or anything more than two.
