http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Video/DVD-Recorders-Players/DVD-Recorders/model.DMR-EZ47VK http://www.retrevo.com/support/Panasonic-DMR-EZ47-DVD-Players-manual/id/2811ag420/t/2/ To get into Service Mode, first put the machine in STANDBY mode, then press the buttons ChUp OPEN/CLOSE and REC all at the same time on the front panel (Ch Up is hidden inside the AV3 input flap). Eventually the front panel display will show "SERV" (after its "HELLO" messages). Anyway, pressing then on the Remote Control tells me that I have an Error Code of "04" which is a Digital PCB or Communication Error (whereas an Error code of "02" means a "Defect of RAM drive"). (To exit from Service Mode, press then which should get you back to "SERV" and then POWER-OFF the machine). Hopefully, your manual will display your error codes.
Perhaps the remote control is not set to the same control code as your DMR-ES40V. Codes may be set to 1, 2, or 3 on the remote by holding down the enter button and one of those number buttons for several seconds at the same time. The factory default is code 1. Try 1 first. If that doesn't work try 2. If that doesn't work try 3. If one of those codes doesn't work you may have a bad remote or a bad sensor on your machine. On DMR-ES35V models the sensor is located just to the right of center behind the black window
The remote control for my DVD recorder has stopped working. Every time I press a button, the display says "CHK REMOTE 1", "RC1" or "SET1". What is wrong?
Your DVD recorder remote control can be programmed (with different codes), so it can be used with multiple Panasonic DVD players. When you press a button and the display shows [CHK REMOTE #] or [RC#] or [SET#] it means that the DVD recorder and the remote control are not set to the same code.To set the remote control code to that of the DVD recorder, press and hold [ENTER] as well as the corresponding code number on the display (1, 2 or 3) at the same time for more than 2 seconds.
My remote is not working. When I press a button, I get the following message on my unit: U12, U30, SET #, CHK REMOTE #, or RC #. What can I do to fix this?
The message displayed means that the remote control and unit are not communicating and the remote needs to be programmed. To program the remote, press and hold the same number that is displaying on the unit and the [ENTER] or [OK] button for more than 2 seconds. For example, if the unit displays “SET 2”, press and hold and [ENTER] or [OK] for more than 2 seconds.
Hey I just found out how to UNLOCK the tray Power up the unit, wait for it to read the disc if one is inserted. hold the stop button and the power button down together for 5 seconds the display will show UNLOCKED Open/close button should be restored
Don't know if this will work for you, but I unplugged the player then plugged it back in again whlie holding down the power button. The player did not power up until I released the power button and pressed it again. That did it.
You can try a factory reset (reboot). Here are the steps..
The following will set your recorder to the Factory defaults. (Will not format HD on DMRE80).
With power off (stand-by mode/CLOCK DISPLAY SHOWING):
1)Press and hold [skip reverse] [Time Slip] [Eject] buttons for about 10 sec 2)Display will show 'L1 TEST' 3)Now power off DURING TEST 4)Clock should be fashing 12:00 5)Turn power on and language menu will be displayed on TV
Use for DMRE50 DMRE55 DMRE85 For the DMRE75V press both [dub] buttons and [eject].
