I just bought an X223W LCD monitor for my computer and there's no sound. My previous audio cable has no place to plug into this monitor. How am I supposed to get sound?

Your previous monitor had built-in speakers. The Aces LCD monitor do not have built-in speakers, therefore you need to purchase external speakers and plug these into your computer.

I just bought the VN205N monitor. I am confused about the sound component. The store salesman says I have speakers in my monitor, but I do not have a plug at the back in which to put the cable in and the...

If it has built-in speakers then it will have on screen volume control, that is how you can tell if it has built-in speakers, I cannot find any info on this VN205N. You are better off using power speakers anyway with much better sound than the the monitor built-in speakers.

Flat screen monitor

First, make sure that you have all the necessary cables connected, then make sure that they are all connected properly and tightly. Also, make sure that your computer is set to output to the correct output. If that doesn't work, then the speakers are probably broken. That's the exact reason why you don't buy stuff from pawn shops. Cheap, but crappy.
