ACER Aspire 5737Z – Acer Crystal Eye WebCam camera no found I had the symptom where ‘no camera found’ and the device not showing in device manager (unless you expose hidden devices, but was visable via non present hardware (exposed via system variable devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1) Solution – Disable and Enable USB Controllers 1.From Device Manager 2. Right click and uninstall the Standard Enhanced the Universal Serial Bus controllers -> Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller – do this for both via right click - uninstall. 3.Right Click <YourSystemName> from the top of Device Manager, Click Scan for Hardware Changes. 4. Your Acer Crystal Webcam should now back under Imaging Devices, and working again! 5.Strange but seems to fix it, good luck! I also pressed the top of the laptop screen to the left and right of the camera at around the same time. Not sure if something clicked back into place, either way above is a simple thing to try... Hope this helps.
If the blue light does not come on by the camera, then just the program is running and not the camera, it takes one program and one driver to run the Crystal Eye.
Here is the link to both files, make sure you have them both installed. Click on the link > click on Notebooks > click on Aspire > click on 5610 > download noth camera downloads > one is a driver, the other is the software.
"My Computer" is the only way to access it. Not sure why they set it up that way, but they did. Right click it and create shortcut that you can drag to desktop. The camera also does not come with software. It uses windows native control for it. If you you were able to screw up the design of a 300.00 laptop.....they did it with that camera.
hi somisettiky, the laptop has a crystal eye icon on the desktop by default so you can take picture using it. if you have yahoo messenger, you can use that to as a webcam, same with skype or other video conferencing softwares.
guest, the crystal eye does not have a time delay shot be default, you may use a utility from acer to optimize the use of your mounted camera.
yeah sure it is made for that purpose for video conf and picture taking just go to start>all programs>Acer Crystal Eye folder u will find the icon there just make a shortcut from there to ur desktop if u dont find it there then just go to "C:\Windows\Acer Crystal Eye Webcam.exe"
otherwise ur webcam utility is not installed just download the utility from
Try to locate the camera driver and do a update also might be a fix download for the Crystal Eye Cam through Acer Or another download site. Another idea would be to get a driver Program which checks all your drivers on the main items like keyboard, web cam , mouse, monitor, graphics the one i use is DriverDetective works great!
go to my computer, and then open up the c:\ drive. go to program files, and open it up. Then look for your program in their in one of the folders. If it isnt there, it isnt installed, so try reinstalling it from your cds that came with your laptop. And if not,
