Hard to start Chevy 2000 Silverado 1500 .2nd or 3rd time it starts up Runs great but hard to start

hard starts.
1: needs a tune up. spark plugs then filters
2: are you running winter fuel, how cold is it? where are you?
Alaska or Miami.? (important that)
3: fast cranking speeds, is it, normal, only you know that.
4: ECT not reading wrong.
5: bad fuel, water in fuel.
6: ISC stuck closed, (they can gum up and prevent proper fresh air for staring, and will cause cold start flooding.

I always make sure my ISC is opening for startup.
the check my plugs to see if cold starts are due to flooding
or fuel starvation. test fuel proves this too.

and with fuel injection, one injector can leak , and overnight
the next morn, one cyl is flooded.
this takes careful testing to find.
8 cyclinders, check them all for flooding is the path for that.

Homelite 330 chain saw no lubrification to the chain

Allot of times this is caused by dirt plugging up the outlet. Pull the side cover that holds the bar on and clean using carb cleaner and compressed air. You should see a small metal tube or hole where the chain runs at the top, make sure it is clear. If you remove the cain and the bar you can start and rev the saw to make sure oil is weeping, it won't squirt out.

I have a 500 amp battery jump-starter # j5c09ca i know i have to charge it for 40 hrs before first use. after that do i have to charge it for 40 hrs.each time

No you do not. You are supposed to charge it for 24 hours before the first initial use. After that you are supposed to charge after it using it to jump start a vehicle or every 30 days if not used at all.

You are supposed to charge until the two red and one green LED lamps are lit SOLID. The unit should be fully charged once the LEDs are lit solid. Unplug the unit and put back into storage until needed. Again if not used for extended periods of time the unit should be charged ever 30 days.

I bought an older stihl 044. The spark plug hole was striped out and the saw had a lot of hours on it so I replaced the piston, rings and jug. I idled the first tank of gas through it for break in and the...

sounds like you have a air leak somwhere

symptoms of air leak are - rough inconsistant idle , stalling, low power , hard to start - ineffective mixture settings --------- provided you have fitted a new carb kit and set it up particularly when you fitted new piston rings and jug

did you check intake boot and impulse tubes for holes and had you checked c/case joint and seals & base gasket for leaks ?

only way to find out is to remove muffler and carb and block off and fit air adapter in plug hole and set piston at bdc and pressure test ( may need to remove flywheel and clutch ) use soapy water brushed around seals and joints and around base gaskets - use crc to see if boot / or impulse hose have holes you should hear the air pressure leaking out

note also vaccuum test as well if alls good 7 psi pressure should hold for 2 minutes at least
and vaccuum should hold as well

be sure your timming key is not shawn as well

carb settings base line are hi 1 -1/4 lo 1 -1/4 to start then hi is set at top no load
so that it 4 strokes slightly final settings may be close to 1 to 1-1/8 of a turn

most sthils about 1.0 turn out from lightly seated

give it a try but once you have done it you will have a good idea of whats involved

cheers hope it helps

Poulan 2025 chain saw, I prime it cain saw, set the choke, give it a pull, it runs for a few seconds and quits. where do I start

Probably with the carburetor, fuel lines, and fuel filter. Check the air cleaner and muffler for plugging. Make sure the fuel lines are not decayed or damaged. If the above does not help, then remove the carburetor, clean it with spray carburetor cleaner, and check the two diaphragms for hardness or any damage. Check the impulse pumping passage behind the carburetor which may be plugged or is open to the air. Any fault with these pulsations will prevent the carburetor from pumping fresh fuel into itself while running. Hope this helps!

Hard to start Husqvarna 435

reportedly you need to open up the low idle jet screw about 1/4 turn, takes an odd shaped tool to get at it, Husky sells this tool, or you can probably makeshift one from hard plastic tube... anyway, this is due to EPA issues, but once you increase the L adjustment 1/4 turn (counter clockwise, I believe), problem is said to go away.

Husqvarna 136 chainsaw

Both H and L screws should be set 1-1/2 turns out from stop. Turn the idle speed screw two turns in from where it is now. When you had the carburetor apart, did the rubber diaphragm seem hard? If it did, re-kit the unit. When you clean the carburetor body, use spray carburetor cleaner and use compressed air to blow out all fuel passages including the two mixture control screw holes. Be sure to check the condition of the fuel line and the air cleaner. Even a plugged muffler can cause weird problems.

Cain saw

You might have to adjust the low on the carb, turn the low adj. all the way in and go out 1&1 half turns out. start from there. If that doesnt work you will need a carb rebuild. Also checkyour compression and cyl.
