Sony Grand WEGA KDF-42WE655 42 in won't turn on

Hi, the tv won't turn on- the green and red lights flash. It is rear projection- do you think the lamp could have gone?

    How old is this TV.
TV has one indicator light just under SONY Logo and on left side of this indicator, has lamp light.
Please count blinks of light as there would be pause of 3 seconds in blinks.

You can remove the lamp and look directly to the lamp and Anode. Check to see if the Anode busted or the Glass outside of the lamp if it seem to Cloudy. In that case you have a bad lamp.
Becareful with lamp door ,it has a safety switch.

Tv won't turn on. It blinks green then red.

Hi,
Question shows tv is Sony KDF-60WF655.
Green light blinks when tv gets prepare to fire up lamp, check internal circuits then show picture on front screen.
Red light blinking shows some kind of internal problem during circuit check and protection got activated upon some failure.
Count the red light blink as you will see 3 second long pause and post it here to diagnose what section of tv got problem.
Did you replaced its lamp in last 2-3 years?
Thanks.

Problem for Sony Grand WEGA KDF-55WF655. Hello,

5 times Red LED blinks means Lamp Driver Error. (KDF-55WF655)
2 possible reasons, either Lamp is gone or Ballast Supply got bad.
Replace lamp first, in most cases it solved the problem.
How old is this TV and did you replaced lamp recently?
Thanks.

60 inch sony wega tv

Green flashing is normal. Red flashes are error codes. Count the error flashes.

3x - Lamp cover position or cover detect switch bad.
4x - One or more fans failed RPM test
5x - Lamp power supply/ballast failure
6x - Thermal fuse failed (usually)
