If running windows you could try ThumbsPlus. I don't know of any free programs that convert that format

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My Nion3100 is saving pictures into "NEF" format instead of "JPEG. Don't know how it got switched or how to switch t back. Can I re-format the pic on my SD card so I can work with them on the computer

Open the "Shooting Menu" by pressing the Menu button. Press the right Multi-selector and then scroll up or down to "Image Quality". Press the right Multi-selector and you will see the various choices for JPEG and NEF combinations and quality, make your selection by scrolling up or down and pressing "OK".
As for converting you NEF photos to JPEG; you can easily do that in one of several ways on your computer. If you are using Lightroom or Photoshop, all you have to do is open your pictures, select "Save As" and use the pull-down menu to select JPEG and save. If you do not have that program, there are several conversion programs available on the Web; manu for free. I use a program called BatchConverter on my Mac. There are similar programs of PCs.

I went to Walmart to print off pictures from my SD card and it says there are no pics on it, yet when I view from my camera, I have over 600 of them. How do I print pictures off my camera?

Does your camera show the pictures without the SD card installed?
Maybe the camera has an internal memory also. If not, they are likely being stored in the wrong format.

Cannot open picture, get an error message, An error is preventing the photo from being displayed. using vista

Depending on what format you took the pictures in you may need to load the image editing software that camecame with the camera in order to view your photos and convert them to jpeg so your computer recognizes them. Check the settings on your camera and make sure it is set to jpeg not raw.

How do i save raw pictures from my camera to a disk. When I transfer them to my computer I can only open them with my cameras software. I don't know how to get them into another program so I can burn them....

You can't burn raw pictures. They are only data from a camera....not an actual picture. They must be processed in an editing program and then converted to another format such as jpeg or tiff.

I am shooting in raw i cant download pictures properly or get my pictures printed off the the card

RAW images are what it means. You should convert them into a printable format such as JPEG before you can take prints. I strongly suggest that you shoot in JPEG mode to avoid all these headaches!

I have a vpc-t1495 camera that the software cd does not alow viewing of the pictures without the program closing every time you select a picture. What gives? Also , how do you convert the JPEG's to 3GP...

Well, on the software CD, there should've been a driver for the camera, right? Couldn't you just (assuming you've got Windows) go to My Computer > The Camera? There's probably be like a DCIM folder or something.
Oh, and 3GP is video, actually. For actual pictures, most cell phones will display .jpg, .png, and .bmp. But, if you really need it, I would recommend using a program called Super.
Here's where you can find it:

I use it a lot at home, and we use it in my Broadcast II class at school. It replaces the scripts I'd written to convert things ;)

I want to attach digital pictures to send along with email messages but the picture files are too large. How can I rectify this issue?

What format are they stored in. I would have thought those stored in .JPG format would be ok to attach.

1) Check format of each picture, if necessary convert to .jpg or JPEG format. Most photo editing software will allow you to do this.

2) If already in .JPG format then reduce the size of photo's using photo editing software.

3) Limit the number of pictures you attach, I'd keep my emails to a max of about 5-6 Mhz. (3 pictures)

My camera kodak easyshare C1013 cannot show pictures. it says "unrecognised file format"..i need help

The camera stores the pictures in a JPEG format only. You can use .jpg files in most image editing programs. Videos are stored in a .mov format that you can view with QUICKTIME software or KODAK Picture Software.

* What you can do is transfer the pictures to your computer and check the file format
* You can delete photo then just take a photo again.

Unrecognized file format means the file format of the picture in the camera is not JPEG or the memory card is faulty
