I just bought and installed a new HP Pavillion computer. I had a HP Deskjet D1341 connected to my old computer that was working fine, After installing the new Pavillion and conecting the printer to the USB...

disconnect all the cabled from the printer and leaving behind only the power cable.
Then try turning on the Printer. If it still doesn't turn ON then it means that its a hardware fault. Please consult HP for it. But if in case it does turn ON (the chances of which is very less) then it could be a software issue with the computer. Let me know what happened.

I recently purchased an hp, pc. the pavillion p6654y and hp 2310m monitor. i'm looking for a printer to go with it. my problem is i'm getting so much info. from different sources as far as what to and not...

Based on the fact this is for home, I assume your not going to be printing 1000's of pages per month. With that being said I refenrced a couple of place for you to see what other customers are saying I've attached the links below. From a HP stand point merely based on customer reviews I would either buy the HP OfficeJet 6000 wireless which costs around $90 or the HP Deskjet D1160 est around $40. Both of these machines are just printers, not all in one's.
For a All-in-one (Multifunction) Printer I would say the HP Officejet 4500 estimated at $130.

For Printers:
For Multifunction:

I hope this helps you in your purchase.

Purchased 4480 Deskjet on or about 1/18/10 to go with HP 6250 Pavillion. Printer software would not install?? Please advise

1. Check the disk on another computer and see if you get response from the disk.
a. if you do then this may be your cd rom or DVD read/writer is not working properly.
b. If not, then the cd make be a corrupted copy.
2. Call the manufacturer and ask for a new copy since you have just purchased the printer. They should be happy to send you a new copy of the installing software.
3. Take the unit and all it's compnents back to the place of purchase and inform them of the issue and request a new printer with a new copy of the installing cd and get assurance from the store manager that if it doesn't work can you bring the unit back and get a refund.

I can't get my new computer to communicate with my old printer

Try removing the printer driver that you have installed and download the driver from this URL.

When installing the printer make sure you don't plug it into your laptop until the installation software asks for it.

This should work.

Problems printing pdf files with an hp officejet pro 8500

You can try installing the PostScript driver rather than the default PCL driver for the printer. You may also have a faulty USB cable which is causing data errors when printing complex jobs such as PDFs.

HP psc 2110 all-in-one wont print from internet

I'm assuming you went to the HP site and downloaded the Vista drivers??? Other than that try this:

  1. From Control Panel > printers... uninstall all printers.
  2. Unplug USB cable to printer and re-boot.
  3. Install Software.
  4. Plug USB cable back in.
Hope that fixes Ya...
