It is not safe to use until you have it checked out by a qualified slectrician, and have it certified safe. Do not be tempted to use it because it is now dried out.
Plz rate my advice.

I was surprised by the remarks you made in your e-mail to my comments re your dryer.

You asked for advice which I considered appropiate considering the circumstances of your dryer being stood in water, yet you went ahead and used it anyway, so why bother to ask for advice in the first place, which you totally ignored anyway..The fact that it is working now does not mean that is has not suffered any damage ,because long term damage could occur in the near future.

I am guessing you are in the U.S.A , here in the u/k an event like you had would be considered a hazard, and until the appliance was checked for electrical safety, and a certificate issued, it

would not be used, I guess you must have a different set of values in ths states.

I have seen the tragic consequences of what water can do where electrical appliances are used.after being in water.

Any it was your perogative to go ahead and use it,, so good luck to you. and I have to say that to rate my advice as innappropiate and rate it as such, is really not the case, and I consider your remarks as totally inappropiate under the circumstances.

I must say I feel better for saying what I think.

This is a pilot-less ignition. You should wait at LEAST 48 hours for the water to evaporate as much as possible.

Longer if possible.

Whirlpool Imperial seventy dryer does not heat up

Natural gas and copper do not mix, and the copper line will corrode from the inside out.

Now, on to the problem, it's very likely the timer has failed IF it does not rotate all the way through the drying cycle. If it does, and the clothes do not heat up, then reply back what you are experiencing and I will give you move help.

How much water did you have in the basement? Back in June we had flooding in the area, and the my recommendation to everyone has been to replace any appliance that was under any water.

If the motor was under water, wires or the gas valves, these components will corroded and could cause you future safety concerns.

Won't start after flood

First I would remove motor and put it in an oven for a few hrs at min temperature like 200 degrees then I would remove motor centricical switch and push in the actuator tab a few times, then put it back in. Use a cheater cord plugged into pins 4&5 and see if the motor runs, it should.
