The rear bearing is going out. The motor will overheat from the increased load and the motor control board will soon fail unless this is fixed. To replace the Maytag Neptune rear shell bearings first order the seal and bearings. Here is the kit.
SOURCE: My wash spins SO loudly
Had the same problem with my Neptune and is was not the bearing (there's only one). I replaced my washer with a new tub and bearing which was factory pressed in the tub (couldn't just by the bearing) after all this I found that the spinner support (which has three arms holding the tub) on the back of the tub had one of the three bolts broke and was throwing the washer out of balance and creating a loud knocking sound when it would spin. Replaced the stainless bolt and everything was fine. The repair man told me what he thought was wrong with my machine so I did the repair myself and found out after the fact that I wouldn't have had to spend all the money on the new parts if I would have just investigated the problem further.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune Series MAH5500BW loud noise during spin cycle.
very loud in spin cycle can mean a bad rear bearing, not something a homeowner would want to try to replace, parts would exceed 6-7 hundered dollars. you may have some extended part warr through the manufacture. still probly gonna be a 5 hundred when the labor is added in

There is 2 possible problems. 1. Pump will make noise as soon as the drain and spin starts. 2. Rear bearing this noise usually starts later in cycle as the drum gets up to final speed. The rear bearing of coarse is the most expensive of the two as it is part of the outer tub.
