Question about Hoover Steam Vac Dual V w/ SpinScrub Vacuum
Whenever I attach the cleaning tool, the cleaning solution leaks from the bottom. When I turn the machine on, it spays out the side too. The machine works fine if I am not using the tool. When I am done using the tool, I have to run the vac over the carpet to **** up the leak. Not sure what is going on. Please help.

SOURCE: Leaking Hoover Steamvac
Either you have a crack in the tank and it is running down the indise of the handle and going out the bottom, or there is a water line off either under where the tank sits or under the top cover.

The water hose plugs into the solution valve-pressure on the side of the noozle(bottom). There may be a water line that has come loose there, you will have to take the top off to get to it.

SOURCE: Clean water coming out of sides
Hoover SteamVac Ultra (model F5883-900) Threw it away, and had to buy a new machine. Sorry, but I found it more difficult to deal with the housing unit on the machine and just couldn't deal with it anymore. I hope you have better luck than I did with it. I couldn't find ANY help on ANY web sites for this model, just too old I guess.

First item to check is the valve on the machine where the upper ank sits. If you install the tank and then remove it, you will have a small ammount of water in the black gasket area. this means that this is ok. if not and there is no water you will need to replace it. also ( a way to also verfiy this is to remove the brushes and put a dry towel under the fron and install the tank. if water comes out the diffuser then the resevoir is faulty. if it comes out from the right side then the pump is your problem.

you have either a cracked housing, or a valve is stuck open. if you can spray a small amount of wd49 into the valve, and work it a little, youmay be able to dislodge whateverdeposits have built up in there.
