My ZUNE froze up on the Zune screen also today. Maybe its a December 31st thing. I know that I am frustrated because I need this thing to work. I charged it with my charger that plugs into the wall but nothing is happening. Can somebody give me some kind of clue of what to do? The hold the back button and up on the control pad is not working. Any more tips?

The 30 Gb Zunes unfortunately suffer from a bug that caused all of them to do this just before the new year. Keep checking the Zune website for them to address the issue. They will hopefully issue a fix soon.
Let the battery drain completely and then plug into computer. There was a leap year glitch from Microsoft and the fix is working today. Ours froze yesterday and it's OK this morning. This only fixes those that froze Dec. 31st.
Disassemble and disconnect the battery for about 10 seconds. All Zune 30's apparently siezed this AM. MS is working on their solution, not sure when it will come out. The battery disconnect is at least a temp fix. Mine works fine after doing it.
