Question about SanDisk Sansa c250 (2 GB) MP3 Player (SDMX7-2048)

SanDisk 2gb MP3

The device was new, we plugged in to the computer and charged it. We downloaded the software disc into our computer. The device is charged but won't turn on when off the USB and computer. It does not have a memory card in it. Is one required? We tried changing the "hold" slider off and on and powering it with no luck. If it turns on at all it immediately turns back off.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand sounds like an internal battery. Best bet at the moment is to charge the unit for a couple of hours, to hopefully wake up the battery.

Should that not be corrective, sorry, but better consider warranty replacement.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

If you still face the problem then the issue can be with your player or the USB cable.Try charging it with a new usb cable. You can also use the wall charger if you have it.If in both the cases it doesn't turn on then you will have to send your player under repair.I am sure this isunder warranty you can get it exchanged.

Lost the install disk for sansa e200 mp3. How can I get the download

This device does not require additional drivers to use. Plug it in and you should be ready to go. This MP3 player comes with Sansa Media Converter software on a disc. If you have lost your disc, this software is available for download here:

Sandisk sansa fuze 2g mp3 player[black] is not charging for long

Try switching to MSC mode in the SETTINGS..USB menu on your player. Then plug it into your computer again. If you normally use a front USB connection on your computer, try one in the back. It's a more direct connection and works better for some people.
Some USB ports in the front are not strong enough. Your HP laptop should work.
I had the same issue.

Sansa clip mp3 player 2GB shows as UNKNOWN DEVICE when i connect

Sandisk website will have it, and will have the vista compatible software:
http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376

here is the link for the sansa updater.

Ok...here is something you might want to do....I know you already formatted your device a zillion times already but please do it one more time using the Format option under Settings menu in your device....then restart your computer....then plug in your computer again after restarting to see if it recognizes now.....if not...here is one thing you could do....go to this link

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html

download the USBDeView software and see if the registry has the player in there....select it and delete it and then plug in your PC again to see if it will re-register the device and works...hope this will help.

Computer says"device driver software not installed"

Check Sandisk website to see if they have Vista compatible software. i know that newer usually means better, but in the case of Microsoft Vista, you will be astounded at how many devices are not compatible with the OS. Hopefully SP1 will fix many of these issues.

SanDisk, 2 GB Sansa mp3 player won't charge

I was having the same problem with my Sansa e250. My wife has the e200, and we didn't have any problems with that. I saw that someone on here suggested to lock the mp3 player with the tiny metal switch on top, so I did, and the battery charging icon on the bottom of the screen came on and stayed on, and the mp3 player worked. thanks!
Because of this I would suggest checking to see if it's locked or unlocked and then change it to charge it.
