Ps2 is working, i put the adapter in the back and the other end in the ariel socket in trhe tv, it automatically puts my tv into sleep mode, is there a certian channel i should have it set on or something i should be switching on or off. I have had the ps2 for many years but have recently moved house and cant remember how to connect it. thanks.
This usually happens try putting it on av1 or 2 it might work or continue trying to make the ps2 screen show that's what i did when it wasn't showing my ps2 on the tv also try putting it on the normal tv channels using the remote that came with your tv and then scan to see if your ps2 screen comes up.

Put the main aerial into the receiver aerial socket, then connect the fly lead (the one that has male and female ends) to the other socket on the receiver, then put the other end into the tv.
Then put one end of a scart lead into the socket on the receiver marked tv,then put the other end into the scart socket on the tv,either in av1 or av2.
Then turn on the receiver, the tv should automatic go to the av channel, then you will just need to tune in the receiver.
make sure you have the Ps2 network adapter on your PS2. After that just simply connect and Ethernet cable to the back of the adapter. The other end of the cable goes to your router of course. Turn on router make sure you have a connection on your computer.( e.g. internet works) Then turn on your ps2, put in a game with online capabilities. Go to the online section of the game and create your account. And there you go, you should be connected. Keep in mind some ps2 online might not work they might of taken the servers done since PS3 is now primarily used online.
If you are using the RF cable you should be able to see video as long as you are on the right channel set from the RF cable, if that isn't working then just try plugging in the video cables and see if it is just the RF cable not working.
First off you need to retire that ps2 and join the PS3 revolution, well worth the money although with the recent drop of the inferior x-box 360 the PS3 may follow suit shortly.
Now, I'm gathering from your discription limited as it may be that you had an adapter that connected the the stock cable that was included with your ps2 which consists of the end that interfaces with the ps2 and the end that is ment to provide the signal to your tv which includes your composite video (yellow) and your left and right audio (red&white).
If this is case then it should be a simple matter of removing the adapter that changed the source (ps2) signal to aerial and pluging the yellow red and white cables direct to your tv (standard imputs at the rear of the television should be video 1,2,3 ect.
Then just make sure your tv is on and set to the correct imput and you should be rockin and rolling in no time.
