Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. If I uninstall the software, I'm concerned the refresh button will not work and I still won't be able to upload my photos. I've tried contacting HP and I've looked at their troubleshooting site. They have instructions for Windows XP but not Windows Vista.
Hi !
1. Try different few things. Delete yor software and driver for your HP . Clean Registry( Start/Run -> regedit) deliting all HP keys and strings of the camera's software.Restart your computer. Reload HP software and driver on your PC with proper driver ( 32 or 64-bit OS) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=213533& .
2, A corrupt PID can prevent a USB device from working correctly in Windows. Removing the PID key and reinstalling the software for the device may resolve the issue. Follow the steps below in the order given to remove the PID keys.
3. Did you try to connect to another PC ?- ( First download HP driver on this PC). - It will help you to eliminate possible camera's itself problem.

Well, I was looking for the name of the software. I don't think you need to reinstall the software, but you need to read the documentation that came with the software. ...................................... There is a better solution to your problem: Buy a card reader that can read your type of camera memory card. Just plug it into your computer's USB port and Windows XP will see the card reader as being another hard drive. Remove the card from your camera, plug it into the reader. Use Windows Explorer to move the photos and video to your computer. You never have to connect the camera to your computer again.

In digital camera years, that is an old camera. (1999 - 1 megapixel) These usually require special drivers. But there is one thing you may try: I believe most of the cameras of that age required that the camera be in playback mode. Playback mode is the mode you use for looking at photos on the camera LCD.

This is because your camera is of old version and vista doesn't support it. to solve this problem you should visit to the website of your camera which is given in the manual of it and download driver for vista.

I'm glad you fixed it very easily.
