Hi akaprettyboy,

It is advisable to immediately back up your data and replace your hard-disk drive as soon as possible. If you are able to boot consider yourself lucky for now, but that error finding a POST queried EIDE drive detected possible error conditions means the drive is either Unreliable or a defective drive. You can try to reformat the drive (once you backup your data) to try and save it, but most likely it's trashed.

Best of luck

Mark

Dell's disk monitoring system has detected that drive 0 on the primary EIDE controller is operating outside of normal specifications

Take this as a S.M.A.R.T. drive warning and start backing up your valuable information. Be prepared for a drive failure.

Dell: Primary hard drive 0 not found Primary

Sorry, but this isn't a good sign. Drive 0 is most likely your main hard drive, and only if you have a second one would you computer ever find anything on Drive 1.
I would check the connections inside from the motherboard to the hard drive, as well as from the power supply to the hard drive.
Here's the manual: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx60/en/ug/sffabout.htm#1103481
Also, if you boot your computer to the Dell copy of Windows, go through the motions of reinstalling Windows and you probably won't be able to detect any drive to install it on.
You'll most likely need to replace the hard drive altogether. Sorry!
Hope this was helpful for you (even though it was bad news)! If so, please give a rating!

For this problem it only means that the Hard Disk of the computer is not being detected

Try doing the ff:
  • reseat the IDE or SATA cable of the Hard Disk
  • Clean the port where the cable is connected (make sure that the computer is unplug)
  • reboot the computer
  • if problem persist contact computer manufacturer
Hope this will help

Dell dimension 2400 diskette drive 0 seek failure

Check your BIOS setting to see if it detects the hard drive (Primary disk 0). If it can't detect the hard drive then the hard drive maybe faulty. Open the case unpluge the IDE cable from the hard drive and reconnect it again, also unplug the IDE cable at the motherboard and reconnect it again including the power connector on the hard drive.
There maybe an option to test the hard drive in the BIOS, if so use it to test the hard drive.
If the hard drive is faulty, you need to replace it and install Windows, the various device drivers and your programs to get a functioning computer again.
You might consider buying a new computer (it will be faster & better than the old Dell) and you have your new monitor to go with it.

Dell's DISK MONITORING SYSTEM HAS DETECTED THAT DRIVE 0 ON THE PRIMARY EIDE CONTROLLER IS OPERATING OUTSIDE OF NORMAL SPECIFICATION WHAT DO THAT MEAN

Modern IDE hard drives have built in diagnostics called S.M.A.R.T on them, which can detect and predict when a drive is about to fail. This is the system that is throwing up the error. I suggest you back up any important data immediately and get ready to buy a new drive.

No boot device available

Make sure all the connections to the Hard Drive are tight and secure. Then see if it will boot. If not then try loading a windows cd and see if it detects the Hard drive. If it does not the hard drive is no good if it does try running the automated system recovery you may have a corrupt MBR file.
