I left my laptop in the car for 3 days- now it won't start up.

I left my laptop in the car- in the freezing weather ( it was in a carrying case) and I picked it up yesterday and the laptop was damp. I dried it out, but it still won't boot up. Is it hooped? OMG I hope not. HELP!

How long did you let it dry?

The first thing with a damp/wet electronic device you want to do is remove the power source(unplug it and/or battery) to prevent it from and short. try to open the device up as much as possible to dry it. Best place to dry it is over a heat register(furnace vent). Give it some time(day or two). This had worked for Laptops and cell phones. A friend of mine dropped his cell phone in a toilet(clean toilet, lucky for that). I told him to keep it off, remove the battery and let it dry by a heater, not letting it get hot, just warm. and the next day it worked perfectly. Clean water doesn't corrode that much and is a poor conductor so if you dry the device quick, you chances are good. But also is you're playing around with it while it's soaked, trying to get it to turn on, then you are increasing the odds that it would be damaged.

Carrying the laptop from the left side freezes the screen. Nothing wrong with the hard drive. Possible shorting somewhere?

It sounds like a poor connection on the motherboard to screen cabling.
Get an authorised Sony repair service centre to take a look at it.

LAPTOP - Before you pack it up every day after your work

Before you pack off for the day and put your laptop into its carrying bag ENSURE DOUBLY that it is shut down. A notebook that has been left on can melt. When enclosed in a notebook bag there is no air circulation and the results can be worse than melting. Don't find out the hard way and just be sure to turn off your laptop.

Computer left outside, is it damaged?

If you didn't plug it in wet and you brought it in and gave it a few days to temperize and dry off. No. It shouldn't be damaged. Laptops have to live in all kinds of weather conditions so they have a bit of weather protection built into them.

Your owners manual should show the limits of temperature for operating AND storing your laptop.

I left my laptop in my car for a few hours. it was an average day.. fair weather. now the color is all screwed up. it still works fine, i'm on it now. it's just the color. how do i fix it? can i fix it...

In case it is a brand new laptop, do not try to repair it yourself as it will void the warranty. Check with the Toshiba Service Center and they might change the screen free of cost or with a nominal charge in case it is in warranty.
