Slimtype Combo LSC-24082K does not recognize audio/program software

Please double check your drive. GOTO My computer and there you will see disk partitions and optical drive type.. I mean your DVD drive does it says DVD or CDROM? Now if thats DVD then you need to check software you are using.. Its better if you can download VLC
Player thats the best software I have tried.. and no region issue.

What is your PC/Laptop specifications?

Running Blu-ray movies is very CPU power hungry. You may not have a good enough CPU to be running bluray dvds if both audio and video are clipping.

If it is just audio, I highly recommend the video player called "VLC". It plays everything and is undoubtedly the best video player currently available, and it is FREE.

look for options or advanced settings on the utility that burns the DVD or CD's i e nero or roxio etc.

It is a pretty common fault when drive can not read one type - cds or dvds. That means you have to replace the drive. Price of the drive is not that high so that makes no sense to try to fix it. Cheapest I guess would be eBay (from what I see right now 20 dollars including delivery) but also there are plenty of on-line stores. Just use your favorite search engine to find the drive or simply go to the closest computer repair place and tell them that you want the drive replaced.

OK you may want to tr changing the program you use to burn with. This will determine whether it is a hardware fault or a software fault. Try using http://cdburnerxp.se/ should help. I hope this helps. If it does could you please rate me.

After you have downloaded the firmware update above,the Firmware flash utility,and the FlashFix and saved them all to the desk top.Run the firmware flash utility in step 1.(and follow the directions) (after you run it and make your back up,move on to step 2), Run flashfix in step 2 (and follow the directions)After you have completed steps 1 and 2 move onto the flash,(just click on the update firware file on you desktop and run it.(follow the directions n the screen)

Note: Firmware flash utility =LtnFw (use it for the backUp)

Step 1: Make a backup copy of your current firmware. You can do so using LtnFW. you should make this backup incase you decide that you want to undo the firmware flash, you will need a backed up firmware.

Note: FlashFix=flash fix

Step 2:The firmware flasher is checking your drive and seeingthat you have an OEM model and is thus refusing to flash it. FlashFix will patch the firmware flasher so that it will agree to flash your drive.
Note: Flash=The firmware file you downloaded

Step 3: After using FlashFix, run the flasher, make sure that you select the correct drive from the drop-down list, and flash
