Question about Hotpoint  16.6 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator
Hotpoint HUT161 built under refrigerator will not cool down. Compressor appears to be running and so does the thermostat, what else could possibly be wrong??
If the freezer is working properly, and the fridge is not, it is usually the evaporator fan. It should be located behind the back panel in the freezer. Usually, a fan blade is stuck, or the motor is stuck on it's bearing. You may need to reposition the fan or apply some oil to the bearing. If you cannot get the fan to spin, you might need a new fan motor. Check the voltage first before buying a new motor. You should get around 110V AC .
