I used my washer 2 days ago and it worked fine. Went to use it last night, put a load of towels in, started machine and walked away. Came back later, all lights were off. I opened door only to find the towels still sitting in water. Tried to spin it out, but door won't lock. I pushed the start button and heard the click of the door locking. After about 4-5 seconds door lock light goes off. I have removed dripping towels, unplugged the washer and plugged in again and still I can't get the door lock to stay locked. Is there any way to run a diagnostic on this model? All I know is I have a mountain of laundry to get done, dripping wet towels, a washer that has water in it, but refuses to work. HELP!!!

Re: Affinity LTF7000ES door not staying locked
Unplug the washer and wait 5 minutes before plugging it in again! this resets the system. If this does not work then you may have a faulty door lock, latch, or switch! An need hands on service on location

I see that you are still having trouble with your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# ATF7000E, finishing and now starting a load, even after replacing the door lock.
I would start by making sure that your washer door is completely closed.
Next I would check to make sure that your washer controls are not locked. You will see a "LOC" code if the controls are locked. To get them out of the lock mode, press and hold the "Options" and "Select" buttons at the same time for 10 seconds.
If you are still having trouble you will want to give your washer a hard reset. You can do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power at the circuit breaker for 2-3 minutes.
Once power is restored, if you are still having trouble with your appliance either not starting or not completing the cycle, I would recommend contacting either the manufacturer or your local authorized technician. Hope this helps.
Check the wall socket with another electric gadget. Check your washer plug fuse. Finally open up the rear (after taking the washer power cord off the wall of course!) and disconnect and reconnect all wires and connectors one by one. Possible it could just be a loose connection somewhere. Sometimes happens due to vibration.

Plug off the mains. You
have to look for screws below the front kick-panel, you can raise the machine a
bit to gain access to the screws, the panel comes down & out. You may find a
drain hose here, on left, drain off the excess water. The pump is on the right
side. Be prepared for dirty water. Inside the big flexible tube (coming from
the tub bottom) is the filter, be prepared to find all sorts of junk here,
clean out. You can pass it into a large plastic bag. Examine your pump also,
clean out the impeller. Carefully refit all. Your machine would be fine. Don’t
wait for the machine to jam to look into your filter.
on your model all wax motor door latch's have to be replaced,go to repair clinic .com and you can order the part or go to ebay, and put in maytag neptune mah5500bww wax motor and it will come up and the guy selling the motors has pictures on how to install, let me know-mike
It has not been resolved yet. It has been worked on twice now. It has a new electric panel (not sure what it is really called other than the brain) and part of the motor has been replaced. Now apparently the heater core is not working. The tech told me the heater core probably went out which caused the other 2 issues. I suggest buying the extended warranty if it is ever offered to you. My washer is only 9 month.
