I have ice again, lights.
We have appliance repair book, and a cheap digital multimeter. Not sure meter is working. It seems the compressor is ok. But some of the other parts it says to test don't look like the book I have.

sSounds like the defrost Heater had shorted out since the power button does not shut off the heater. Take the back panel out of the freezer and look for the heater close to the bottom of the coils. Sometimes it looks like a stove heating element. If it is bad call your Local Appliance parts store with your model no and replace it. Its an easy job. Besure and replace the Defrost Heater Thermostat, too. And possibly the Defrost Timer Which could be an electronic card. The parts store will be of enormous help. Sounds like you just need to replace the heater and Thermostat since it was the problem, but it could have damaged the Electronic card in the refrigerator. You might need a tech if it is the card and you have tried to inspect the heater. Leo Ponder imufo2
If the drain catch tray is full the unit will overflow. Look underneath in the rear/fron of bottom the fridger to remove and empty the catch tray. If there is food or debris in the bottom of the fridge (drain grates) it will keep water from going down.
Possible control board failure ...you may notice the freezer lights do work but nothing else. There is a diagnostic push button on the board located on the top of unit under a panel where the power cord enters. andrews electronics .com is the oem provider for this very expensive control board.
Any frost on back wall of freezer section. If so you have a defrost system problem. If you can hear a hum followed by a click the problem is with the compressor. In back of the refrigerator is a removable panel. remove it and carefully check if the compressor is hot. A cold compressor indicates no power to the compressor which would be related to the temperature control or defrost timer. Defrost timers are normally located in the area of the temperature controls. Locate the timer and rotate the clutch head screw clockwise slowly until it makes one click. If the timer is the cause of no power to the compressor the compressor will restart. If the problem is defrost related this same action will start the defrost which should take place in 18-22 minutes. If defrost of the freezer coil takes place and the compressor does not restart after the time indicated (wait 30 minutes) rotate the screw slowly one more click and the compressor should restart. If you had to rotate the screw the second time the problem is your defrost timer.
This unit uses the cold air from the freezer to cool the fridge, you will find that the air duct has frozen up, completly defrost overnight with the doors open, this should rectify fault.
