Question about Refrigerators
Unplug the Ref for 15-20 min, plug it back in and listen for the compressor to start running. You will have to be behind the Ref so you can tell if it's the condensor fan or the compressor running.
Not running, replace the relay. $20-25 you can get a universal start relay and if that won't get it started then the compressor is bad.
Also, another compressor check is with an OHM meter, check for a dead short, touch one lead to ground and the other to each of the three post on the compressor. Any reading on the meter indicates a short in the compressor motor.
Running but not cooling. Take the back wall off in the freezer so you can see the evaporator coils. They should have a light coat of frost over all the coils. No frost or partical covering means it's low on coolant.
