Toshiba TV volume problem

Toshibe TV, model #35AF44, Serial #21132846Chasis #TAC424, has a problem with the volume turning itself down. The volume bar appears on the TV, the volume goes down and then the volume bar stays on. I have blocked the front of the TV to remove any chance of a stray signal causing the volume to go down. This problem may be due to a surge because I lost a the display on my Surround Sound and 19" TV at the same time. All had surge protection....cheap surge protection.

I opened the TV up and isolated the problem. There was some stray low voltage coming continously from the "Key B Out". There was a link from "push button and remote board" over to the "front RCA input board" that allowed me to isolate the "Key In", "Key A Out" and the "Key B Out" from the rest of the TV. Now all Remote Control functions have returned and the volume stays where it is left. This was the quick fix but replacement of the board or the small transistor that was leaking would have solved the problem completely but "Hey, who uses the buttons on the TV anymore?"

SOURCE: 36a43 volume goes up and down buy itself

This problem sometime occurs due to a bad capacitor in the volume control circuitry. You will need a multimeter and a schematic to find out the proper voltages within the volume control circuitry. I would suggest that if you do not have a background in electronics that you take the set to a qualified shop for repairs.

Try removing the batteries from the remote. Then adjust the volume from the tv panel. If the problem is resolved, then it sounds like you may have a stuck remote button.

SOURCE: tv volume turns down by itself

I had that happen to me once and found that one of my remotes was under the sofa cushion, However, I would look at the connections on the pcd that has the volume controls on them, the down switch either has moisture or corrosion behind it, or the switch itself is faulty, if not, remove all dust from inside the set, some may be causing conductivity on the processor, I believe it will be a mechanical type fault rather than electronic...try that...Phil

SOURCE: i was watching tv when suddenly the volume control

The front panel Tactile Switches probably need to be replaced. The part # of the switches is 23344507. You can order them through Encompass Elect. 800-638-3328.
Hope this helps,

Toshiba 32a33. I'll be watching tv and the volume bar shows goes down to 0 (no sound) when it is in this mode the remote control will not work on the volume, you can get up and manually up the volume...

1st check to see if your remote volume down button is stuck. 2nd do you have wireless internet (router) or any other wireless devices phones, ceiling fans, another Toshiba remote, if so try unplugging them (or remove the batteries if it's a remote) while it's changing the volume one at a time. If a different device makes it stop try changing the channel on it. Also make sure the t.v doesn't have a mind of its own and remove the batteries out of the t.v remote, let it ride for a couple days if it happens without the remote being in play then you know your t.v is acting strange, if it stops then starts back up when you start using the remote again then you know your dealing with a remote issue. Sometimes Freq.'s merge causing remotes/wireless devices to conflict with each other.

Volume is very low

Use the satellite receiver remote control to adjust the volume first. The receiver itself offers volume control and you probably have that turned down. Then you are trying to raise it with the volume control on the TV. This is raising the TV volume, but there isn't much sound there in the first place. Use the receiver remote, and you will probably see a volume bar. At some point it might say something like "best stereo" or a star might appear. If that happens leave the volume set there, otherwise just raise it all the way. Then control the volume with the TV remote, or program the DirecTV remote for your brand of TV, and the volume button should control the TV then.

Toshiba (Model : 36A43) - volume goes down automatically

I am having same problem on 32 inch same problem. After playing with board with no results,I tried front buttons and found that if I held the power button in ever so slighItly as not to turn it off, it fixed problem which is the micro on/off switch, I removed the switch and used the remote and everything is back to normal, I am about to insall a used micro switch after I finish typing this but I am sure this will clear up volume problen and menu going crazy problem if not I will just leave micro switch out and use the remote, and I will get back to this board only if that micro switch still causes the problem, so if I don't post in next hour the problem is fixed and I'm more than glad to help.

Volume Issues with Television

toshiba 35a44 I had in shop would not turn on initially, when Qa01 was replaced I was able to turn tv on, but after a couple of minutes volume went all the way down, vol display bar on screen and power and menu keys would not work, remote control function did not mater. after replacement of QA02 mpu no results. desoldered volume down and up keys and sprayed chassis with flux remover on both sides of chassis and sumerged vol keys in alcohol solutions for 10 minutes, restored them in chassis and the problem was corrected. QA01 and QA02 did not had to be replaced there was a contaminant problem on solder flux that was causing the problem. kbzon
