Question about Hitachi 43FDX01B TV
I am not sure my converegecne is off or not. Error: I get a picture and sound but the colors are out line by 4" or so. On the bottom of the screen green shadows occur and on the top red shadows. The channel indicator is tilted at an angle (green) however the stereo indicator is fine (red). I checked the main convergence (was ok) and even looked at the "secret" grid but was not able to tell if anythign was off on the grid. It appeared to be OK. Is there anythign else that would cause the color to be distorted like that? I think the bulbs look good since all three colors are present, not in the right place but they are there. Any ideas? Is there a guide for the special convergence menu that woudl help me allign the colors better? Could that be the case? Any help woudl be appreciated before I spend $400 on a service call. The TV is only 3 1/2 years old. HELP??
Do not try to align the colors with the remote. One of your convergence IC's has gone bad and needs to be replaced, possible burning one of the 3 low value resistors next to it. If you change the convergence settings now then they will have to be reset when the new IC is installed.
