Question about Apple iPod classic MP3 Player

The volume is not loud enough on my i-pod classic

I set the i-pod to the maximum volume and it is not loud enough. At that voulume I can still hear background noise. Is there a way to override the maximum volume or is there some type of limiter to the sound? Other things such as my portable radio reach a much higher volume using the same earphones.

Thank you for that. Although I have checked both of these things it does not make it any louder as the volume limiter was all the way up and the 'sound check' was not on. Any other ideas?

There is a volume limiter under "settings", check to be sure its turned all the way up (you actually have to click the center button to save). Also you will find "Sound Check" being turned on greatly reduces volume.

From the tesco review page, Cableguy came up with a working solution "After hours of messing around with it, Managed to work out how to pass the volume limiter. When you get to the limit (20) and it beeps ans hows an image of an ear, whilst its showing that image, press the PAUSE/PLAY button. then press volume up and it will let you go upto 40."

Music wont turn up -- too soft to hear properly

It could be that the maximum volume limit has been switched on too low.
Go to settings then playback and then volume limit, the volume control shows the maximum volume it has been set to. Use the click wheel to select your maximum volume and then press the centre button to set the limit. Then choose done. Hope this helps.

Remove lock from volume setting

Limit the volume Listening to loud sounds for longer than a moment can be harmful to the listener. You can set the volume level of the player to suit your preferences: 1 From the main menu, select Settings > Sound settings > Volume limit > Settings. 2 Press Vol- or Vol+ to adjust the level. 3 Press to set. > When you set a volume limit, you can no longer exceed the set volume, even if you press the Vol+ button. To enable maximum volume again, set the volume limit back to maximum or turn off, select Settings > Sound settings > Volume limit > Off.
Thanks for rating Good luck

CANNOT FIND UNLOCKING CODE FOR VOLUME LIMITER ON IPOD CLASSIC BLACK 120GB

this should help you below. If you have set a password on the volume limit and forgot the password please let me know cause you will then have to remove the password or restore the device. This is only one step in trying to remove the volume limit it may work or it may not and you will have to use another method. But please tell me if this method works and if it doesnt i will instruct you on where to go from here. To set the maximum volume limit for iPod classic: 1 Choose Settings > Volume Limit. The volume control shows the current volume. 2 Use the Click Wheel to select the maximum volume limit. You can press Play to hear the currently selected song play while you select the maximum volume limit. 3 Press Play/Pause to set the maximum volume limit. A triangle on the volume bar indicates the maximum volume limit. 4 Press the Menu button to accept the maximum volume limit without requiring a combination to change it. Or, on the Enter Combination screen, set a combination to require that the combination be entered to change the maximum volume limit. If you need further assistance please feel free to follow up with a comment and i will be here to
assist you. If this assisted you please feel free to rate the comment. thanks and have a great day.

Skipping music when volume is loud

You have those newer earphones, the ones that actually go in your ear, the pods? No? Well dig this guy. They have more volume and monsterous bass! One player I have that I used to turn up to about 8 on it; I can hear at 1 with a set of cheap Sentry earpods I bought for $4.
Otherwise, it sounds like you might need a new rechargeable battery, or a better brand/ kind of disposible battery. If you use rechargeble batteries like AA or AAA, most have less power than regular disposible; 1.2 vs 1.5. You'll still want the earpods, serious.

Volume settings on the Rio carbon

I'm afraid that there is not. What headphones are you using? I have found that when many people ask questions like that it is the headphones and not the player. People say that when using the 3.04 firmware (look in tips and tricks for this player), the volume is higher but I haven't noticed a difference personally.. When I put my Rio up to highest volume it would damage my hearing if I could put it up any higher and I can only hear people shouting when it is on full volume. Have you got another pair of headphones/earphones to try? You could buy some high ambient noise reduction earphones and this may help.

Hope this helps,

Mowcius
