Question about Insignia NS-DV2G MP3 Player

Insignia Sport Player listing everything as Unknown?

I've had this Mp3 player for maybe 5 months, and never had any problems with it before. All of the sudden, after letting it sit somewhere for maybe only 2 hours, i turned it on to listen to it , and EVERYTHING is listed as "Unkown". My Pictures, My Music ,including the song name, album, and artist, And My Video's.

Everything still plays and show's it's just now listed as Unknown.

So i tried to delete everything off of it using Windows Media, but it showed that nothing was on the mp3 player. THERE WERE OVER 300 SONGS STILL ON THERE. After messing with it for a while, i was able to get into the file from start, and deleted everything.

IT showed that i had free space. Nothing was on the mp3. but when i turned it on, there were 26 songs still on there. Now, it wont even let me add music to the player. And when i did finally find a way to, as soon as i turned the player off then on again.. Everything went back to "Unknown"

PLEASE HELP ME, I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY A NEW ONE!

Everything is now "unknown"

Still can't explain the unknown status of all the files on the device, but I turned the device off for several minutes and when I returned it had zeroed out leaving an empty device ready to reload anything I wanted. I guess I initially cycled it off and on too quickly.

My Insignia Sport Player MP3 says all music is Unknown?

I have the same problem with my RCA it occurs every so often. What I do is delete everything on there by useing he software that came with it and then change the mode from from MTP to MSC and back that way It formats it so Windows Media player( WMP) can see that it is really empty. Then I end the sync with the WMP and start a new sync. after that all I have to do is load the songs back on. This might not work for you since you have a different MP3, but if there is orginal software that came with it use that to delete. If you dont have any orginal software then you can still try to end the sync with WMP and see if that works.

hope this helps

Insignia sport 4 gig wont organize by artist

You will need to right click on the song file to see if the ID3 information is present.

Right-click, Properties, Summary tab.

You shoudl see a list of fields that you can populate manually, or you can try loading your audio files into a media manger program like iTunes, Media Monkey, WMP, etc and insure your song titles and album names are correct in the ID3 tag fields. Then, your files will appear correctly on your player.

Hope this helps!

Help!!!!!

Insignia mp3 players are a little buggy in that they occasionally get file system problems that cause strange things like this to happen. First backup your songs from the mp3 player, and select "erase internal memory". That actually reformats the memory. Then put your songs back on the mp3 player. If it still doesn't work, please advise.

Also slight change your mp3 files are not "tagged" by whatever cd ripper or encoder or place you bought or downloaded them from.
