Tappan over the range microwave TMT116e1b

Was working just fine and then it quit completly, the clock too. I checked the outlet and am still getting juice, do these things have fuses or is it just time to get a new one. This one is about 6 years old. Or would it pay to have it repaired or can I repair it?

SOURCE: tappan over the range microwave tmv151fs. keypad

"SE" means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

There are three ways to fix this:

The cheapest but most difficult is to remove and replace the membrane keypad.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

Here are the part numbers, which you can order from the Pros here (our favorite supplier) or via the Sears Parts Direct Web site.

You can replace the control panel frame, which comes with a new keypad already installed.

This costs is a little more, but is much easier.

The simplest way of all is to replace the whole control box.

I have O'Keefe and Merritt stove with attached microwave labeled Tappan FCC ID ABM964To3. The "start" button on the microwave quit working. Can I get this repaired?

I had very old parts for the tappan units but they have been out of circulation for quite some time. Unless this is a new tappan that I am not familar with, Most of those parts are no longer available. The FCC ID does not help, you need a model number of the unit to try to look up parts. A Microwave puts out radio waves and such has to be regulated by the FCC. Federal Comunications Commission. That number wont help find parts for the unit. Sorry

Where is the fuse in the Tappan Microwave (undercabinet) mounted

Quite often on an over the range model, the line fuse is located behind the grille or behind the controller, or sometimes in between the door switches.
There is a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes here.

You _should_ be able to find links to helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts here.
But if the oven is dead, first check the outlet under load (a toaster or heair dryer work best), then you can suspect the fuse, the magnetron thermostat (or TCO), the oven cavity TCO, or the controller.

Tappan microwave vent motor and cooktop lights not working

see this test . God bless youThis microwave oven repair is only for over the range(OTR) models. First, with microwave still installed, gain access to the control board and check for voltage from the fan relay. If you are not getting voltage from the fan relay on the control board, and your display says fan is on, then you need a new control board.
Again, this microwave oven repair is for OTR models. If you know your light bulbs are good and your display is telling you that they should be on, check the light relay on your control board. If no voltage is found at that relay, then replace the control board. Otherwise your problem is in the light socket, wiring, or wire connectors. You can get to all of that by unscrewing 6-8 screws under the unit and taking the bottom panel off.If voltage is present and the wiring that you can see looks good, then you will have to take the unit down and test for voltage at the fan itself. If the voltage is present there, then test the motor itself and/or start capacitor for the motor. The fan motor assembly will slide out of the top of the unit after you take it down and unscrew 2 screws. Below, in the list of component testing, you will see how to test the motor and start capacitor. get the part from

All of a sudden the microwave will not coming on at all no clock no nothing, it completely lost power. I've tried a different outlet and it has no power. Did it blow up?

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

Have old tappan speedwave 1000. buttons work but when you press start nothing work except the countdown on display

Unplug the unit for 15 minutes...plug the unit in and try again. If that doesn't work - take the back cover off and look for any blown fuses...should be obvious.
