The dealer I bought my range from is no longer in business. Another local dealer won't service my Viking because I didn't buy it from them.. I'm stuck because my broiler won't work.

Calibrate oven

i couldn't find your model on the sears site, every viking stove i've worked on had two ignitors,if one of the ignitors isn't working correctly could cause heat changes in the oven.if you pull out the racks, then remove the side rack holders, lift up the floor so you can see the ignitors, start the oven,as soon as the ignitors start to glow time them,if they don't ignite the flame within 40 seconds the ignitor is bad.if this is the problem you don't have to calibrate the oven.also if the ignitor or both are bad check the burner tube to see if there's a hole in it.my friend john had trouble with his oven,i went over, had to change out both ignitors and both burner tubes, the ignitors weren't working correctly and burnt a hole through the tube.so check the ignitors first,if you want to calibrate it look at your manual and it should tell you how to do it,or oull off the thermostat knob, look on the back there might be screws there to calibrate it or if there's a hole in the shaft in the shaft that you pulled the knob off of you might need a small screw driver to stick in there, turn it slowly and not to much to the right to increase the temp.hope this helps but start with the ignitors, they are usually the problem.

How do I access a spark ignitor on a Viking gas

I am assuming your referring to the stove top burner ignitor. Well - I can only say on my Viking 48 inch - it was located at top RHS of the stove on the 'back wall'. I was advised by a 'tech' that it would be located at the back of my stove (ie he would have to pull out the built in unit and would cost me 500$). In fact I replaced the unit in 30 minutes ... I removed the two RHS burners (one screw each), disconnected ignitor wires, removed the bracket holding the burners (one screw), followed ignitor wires to silver box covering the ignitor unit (2 screws), opened it & replaced ignitor. Forgot to say - 1st thing I did was turn off power & gas to the range. Of course you need to ensure it is the correct one for your stove. The ignitor you remove should have a manufacturer part number on it. No calibration required on mine - a sealed electronic unit. Probably about 10 wires that need to be R&R'ed - they are on with reuseable fasteners.

Have a Viking range, gas top, electric oven, neither work.

Check connector block where electric is brought into stove for loose or burnt wires. Check Breaker in house power box. Push the breaker firmly to off and then return to On position. Read owner's manual to see if ignitor circuit has a fuse and check said fuse.

Viking 30" Range - Igniter works - but NO FLAME in oven or ranges

No pilot light need to be ignited. You may need a new ignitor. It might not be catching. If you pull the bottom oven plate off you can see the ignitor on the side of the burner and see if it is in its place or broken or just plain old. It is a simple fix. You can buy a universal ignitor or contact Viking and they will sell it to you. Its only two wires and can do it yourself if you are somewhat technical. Good luck.

Viking oven

We had a hurricane come through and power was out at our house for 2 weeks. The top burners worked but the oven would not. Our outside gas grill worked perfectly also using the utility provided natural gas. We were told by Viking that the oven is designed to work only when there is electric power. This is a safety feature, according to Viking.
