I had a surge the other night

Surge shut off my tv, and it hasn't gone back on, could it be only a fuse or is it more severe than that?

My plasma tv won't turn back on after a power outage???

First, unplug the TV, wait 30 seconds to 1 minute, then plug back in & try it. This allows the unit to reset.
Be sure you AC outlet breaker has not tripped.
could also be the TV fuse or power supply PCB.
You should be sure to put a good surge protector in line with this TV as these constant surges are going to severely shorten the life of the unit.

I have a Panasonic plasma, & we just had a power outage today... every time we have one, it won't power back on. The call center is closed for the night, & I can't remember what they told me to do the last...

My LG LCD flat screen tv shut off one night and smelt like burnt rubber. It turned back on fine but I'm worried it will catch fire

You are safe. :) It may have shut off from a voltage spike or brown-out on the line. There are several fuses inside of the TV that are supposed to blow before anything catches fire. If it starts smelling again, then unplug it and take it to a service center.

Samsung LE32A4566C2D flat screen tv wont turn on?

There is a chance the power supply is fried. However, I've seen some Samsung power supplies that have fusible resistors in the power supply for added protection. So your main fuse could be ok, but there could be an additional fusible resistor in the board as well. Also be aware, depending on where the surge entered the TV, you could also have a defective main board. Not trying to rain on your parade, but surge damage can sometimes be severe.

Tv does not turn on after a thunderstorm and several attempts at power returning to the home. The power went on briefly then shut off several times, now the television will not turn on. We had the tv...

Check the main fuse in the power supply, the TV also has small surge protection devices (MOVs) installed after the fuse, any surges the come along and big enough will cause the main AC fuse to blow. When you surge protector, EVERY connections must go through the surge protector, for example, the AC cord of the TV is connected to the surge protector, the cable connection did not go through the surge protection, the surge then can get to the TV through the cables.

There is no power to the TV. Could it be the Fuse (10 amp) We had a power cut the other night, could it be a power surge ?

If it is the fuse you should be able to see it burnt but to be on the safe side either try a new fuse or check the old one with an ohm meter. Surges are funny things. Sometimes they take out the whole power supply or won't bother the set at all. Try the fuse first. Thanks
