Question about Whirlpool GD2SHGX Refrigerator
This refridgerator is about 10 years old. It makes a clicking sound and is not cooling properly. There is also a foul smell. I have tried turning off and defrosting (with no food in it) for about 24 hrs then plugged back in but still there is the clicking sound. I have dusted it and that does not seem to be the problem. Could the freon have leaked out?
No the freon is okay. There is a relay on the compressor that is called PTC relay. That is what the problem is. Unplug the unit and remove the relay from compressor terminals and replace. Should cost 25 bucks. Them little guys are expensive. Let me know how it goes. And don't forget to rate this advice. ken
