Kenmore 700 dryer with a three prong cord is being converted to four prong. Is there a drawing of what wires by color going to the proper screw location?

There's a ground strap wire (green/yellow) attached to the dryer cabinet and connected to the center terminal where the white neutral wire of the power cord is connected. Disconnect this ground strap wire and remove the 3-prong power cord from the terminal block taking note where the wires are connecedt to. Connect the 4-prong power cord in the same way same wire colors of the 3-prong cord are connected to the terminal block. Connect the ground strap wire to the remaining fourth wire (green/yellow). Just do the reverse when converting 4-prong to 3-prong. The link below might enlighten you further on this matter.

Screw Size to install electrical cord

they should be what is called a 10x32 screw. you should be able to get these from any hardware store. not at home depot or lowes, but like an ace hardware. they will know what you are talking about.
i would guess that someone lost your original screws. if not then you might be having problems because the screws got stripped out when trying to change the cord or hook up a new one. if that happend, then you will need to replace the nuts also. get them at the hardware store too.
it may not be easy but you will save alot of money if you can do this yourself.

Kenmore dryer swap pwr cord from a 4 to a 3 prong

Remove the cover plate just above where the cord goes in (1/4" screw) Loosen all 4 screws (3 brass ones and a green one) and see if the connectors will come off. (this is for a "fork" type connector) if the connectors won't come off, you have a "loop type connector in which case you will need to remove all the screws completely. BE CAREFUL! If you drop one inside the machine, you will have to dis-assemble it. Now, re-install/ tighten down the green screw. (If the green screw wasn't used, the unit wasn't installed correctly at the time of install). Loosen the screws on the clamp where the power cord comes into the washer. (again, they may be missing do to improper install). Now, install you three prong cord in reverse. (The cords are flat so you can't mix the wires up on most models of cords) Make sure to put the clamp (strain relife) on that was supplied with your new cord.
