You must think that I am the stupidist woman on earth. If I could have found the place where the old bulb was I wouldn't have asked the question in the first place. It turns out that I DID find it, but it is NOT in an obvoius place. It's in the front of the insideof the dryer, facing the back. In order to get to it I had to lay on my back with my head inside the drum. NOT very comfortable. But I did manage in my total stupidity to fix it myself. Thanks for the "obvious" hint.

Sorry to be so obvious but you need to put it where you pulled the old bulb out of. Most of the time the recep will be covered by a plastic lens. Hope this helps

Thank you. I couldn't find it either, and before getting a mirror or lying on my back like you did, I took the lazy way out and went on the computer. Thank you for figuring it out for me!!!!

there should be a light bulb housing in the inside back of the dryer. most just need a screw driver to open in, just remember to unplug the dryer before do any kind of electrical work...that includes changing a light bulb. unscrew the housing, make sure not to lose any of the screws. with the correct light bulb, just replace the burnt out one with a new working one.

I replace the light bulb but it does not work although the dryer works fine. Is there a special bulb?

with the power unplugged, check the tab inside the bulb socket to be sure its not burned or damaged, also,, at times a new bulb is no good, If you have a multimeter,, put the selector to continuity ,, and place the black lead to the bulb base, and the red lead to the center point at the bottom of the bulb, if you get no reading, the bulb is no good, ( if you don't have a meter, screw it into another lamp, as long as your sure the dryer light socket is a 120v not a 220 volt

The interior light no longer works.

Could be the bulb. Here is how to change it. The dryer bulb is located at the top left of the dryer rim. You will need a torx wrench the correct size to remove the screw that holds down the bulb cover. This type of wrench is available at your local home or auto store and is inexpensive. Once you loosen and remove the screw the cover will fall down. One end is hinged so that end remains in place. On the cover its tells you the type and wattage of bulb to buy. Ours is a 10 watt appliance bulb. You can take the burned out bulb to your local home store and they will get you what you need. The bulb screws in and out of the socket. Just screw the new bulb in and put the cover in back in place and screw the cover down. It is simple. Good luck

How do you change the light bulb on a 2001 cadillac deville

If it is a headlight or tail light, look in the hood or trunk for the wires that connect to the back of the light housing, turn the collar where those wires go into the assembly and it should unlock. removed the bad bulb and pull it out of the socket and insert the new bulb. Be careful not to touch the element if possible with your hand. The oils in your hand will cause the bulb to overheat and burn out very quickly. reverse the process you used to remove the bulb to put the new bulb in place and make sure you lock the bulb in place by tightening the collar.

Change a JennAir JMV8208aa Microwave light bulb

Inside light

1. Disconnect power to oven.
2. Remove screws located in front on top of microwave securing grille.
2. Remove grille.
3. Remove screws securing bulb holder.
4. Remove light bulb

Cooktop lights

1. Disconnect power to oven.
2. Remove lamp cover or remove screws securing bottom plate cover.
3. Disconnect lamps.

If your bulb is stuck or physically broken, it can be a pain. It's sometimes tacked in place with hot glue, and sometimes there may have been enough moisture to corrode and seize up.

You could heat it up (hair dryer, maybe?) then use needle nose pliers. Be careful if heating so you don't burn anything.

You may be able to put the tips of needle nose pliers inside the broken bulb's socket, gently but firmly force the pliers jaws apart and then rotate the pliers to loosen it.

Another cool trick is to put a big glob of hot glue on the end of a stick or dowel, then shove it into the broken base and let it cool about 5 minutes, then turn the stick.

I like to put a little WD-40 or rust buster on the threads of the new bulb, too. Grease, Vaseline, cooking oil, or anything like that will work. Just a thin coat.

The lamps are available at most grocery stores, hardware stores, home centers, and places like Wal-Mart and Lowe's.

If the unit uses halogen bulbs, do not handle them with bare hands, as oils from the skin make them run hotter and shorten their lives.

Please unplug the oven first!

Once you get new bulbs in it, please let me know if you the lights are still not working. This is usually a problem on the control board that can be easily repaired.
