Hi

Thats about right , they can last for along as three weeks or just a couple of days, What you are best doing is downloading the latest firmware for your box , You will normally have to do this about twice a year ,because the lastest firmware last about six months then your box will go down again.

I am wondering if that is just going to continue and need to replace entire washer?

Unless the machine is over 25 years old or is being used more frequently than once a day I would maintain the machine doing as many repairs as possible myself or if available have a reasonable repair service I would still consider maintaining the machine. I'm amazed at the reliability of the older units.

Many of the repair parts have had the corrections made to prevent them from failing for the same reason. This will increase the reliability of the older machines. Also in general the older units are less complex (less things to fail) and easier to repair. You should expect that a newer machine, using significantly more complexity, uses less water and electricity to achieve the same cleaning performance as an older machine.

The control electronics have an indefinite life meaning they fail for components on the board not because they wear out or get old. The likelihood of a new/replacement board failing is consistent with the likely hood of a brand new machine failing. As the control boards age they are less likely to fail.

Using u-tube and fixya and other sources of repair knowledge the older machines have a wealth of experience to bring to solving the problem The newest technology machines will have to go through the learning curve.

The question is will a new machine perform the job significantly better than the unit you have.

Loose / wandering steering. Ball joints are new. Wheel bearings seem tight.

That's a classic sign of a loose steering gear box on that generation Grand Cherokee. Have your jeep checked out for play, in the gearbox.

93 1500 chey wants to wander , I replaced the pitman arm, ball joints are ok. Steering box seems OK. Could this be a steering drive shaft problem?

could be. I had a blazer that would do that and it turned out to be the tie rod ends which will also make it wander.

JUST HAD ALL BALL JOINTS REPLACED, AND SWAY BAR REPLACED. SEEMS THAT I HAVE TO "CHASE" THE STEERING.WHEEL SEEMS TIGHT.VERY LITTLE PLAY.

Hi Brian,

That is normal, play in the steering is the sum result of the play in each of the ball joints. Too much collective play and the vehicle wanders.

The replacements have made the steering more responsive. Sometimes it is too responsive. They will loosen up as they are broken in by use. Within a few weeks steering will more natural again.

I would advise having the alignment rechecked at two weeks. The breakin process can throw off the alignment and ruin tires pretty fast.

Best regards,
Mike

LG Dyer blows 30amp fuse frequently

Hello davidkado,
There is a high probability that when you replaced your fuse box to circuit breakers that the wiring at the fuse box was retightened. If your dryer had been operating Ok for the better part of a year and then you started to blow fuses on a regular basis.. chances are the wiring coming from the fuse box tap was becoming loose from thermal expansion and contraction and that by changing to a breaker system.. your wiring was cut and reterminated to fit the breaker tap. I suspect you won't be having any additional problems...

Rick

2004 Nissan Altima Wanders at Highway Speeds

Depending on the tires, it could be a couple of things. I would have the alignment checked. If there isn't enough toe-in, you will get great wear from your tires, but the handling will be loose or will wander.

I had new tires put on our Nissan Maxima and they did a reallignment with not enough toe-in. It became very twitchy at interstate highway speeds. Just a little toe in made a huge difference. I knew what to ask for because I have some racing background. We could go faster with less toe-in, because it reduces the resistance on the rolling tires, but also makes it more sensitive to the road surface, side winds and tire wear.

But there also shouldn't be any slop in the tie rods, etc...
