Audio drivers for dell

My OS is windows server 2003 and it is a dell vostro a860.I need the audio drivers for it.Please help as I need to play sounds on my laptop

    No. I installed the OS separately as i needed it

Can you provide for me the mainboard you have? If you don't know, you can download a free utility called Belarc Advisor and it gives you detailed information about your laptop including mainboard.     Thanks for the info. It didn't quite tell me the model mainboard, but I will have you try something. Go to link below which says"Vista driver". Try download and installing it. If it doesn't work, try the "XP" driver listed below. If it still doesn't work, let me know.

There are no official XP sound drivers for your model from DELL, but you can try this 'unofficial' XP driver (Driver for Windows XP - Dell Vostro A860 Audio{Conexant Audio CX2056-12} Size: 6.92 MB) from, here.

Have you tried downloading the and installing the driver driver from the Dell support site? The link is below to the audio driver for the Vostro A860 it is for Vista 32bit.
