Question about Frigidaire Dishwashers

1 Answer

I want to know what HO means on a frigidaire dishwasher?

My mother has the dishwasher and HO showed up on display and there is nothing in her "use & care guide" that explains it. I went online and found out that it means heat water delay, but what does that mean?
She couldn't find the model #, but her care guide has a number at the bottom of it that may correspond with the model #. It is p/n 154659601 (0706). I know that that number is for the care guide and may have nothing to do with the dishwasher model #. Just wasn't sure and thought maybe it could help. My name is Lynn. Thanks.

It means the water is trying to heat up and it is taking longer than normal. Check your hot water heater to make sure it is heating properly. Do not use hot water in other areas at same time ..ie: washer, shower, etc. The HO will disappear once the water is heated to the proper level by the dishwasher.

Hello,

This is a flood error code. The bottom drawer needs to be removed to dry up the water. The video below explains how to do this. It's actually pretty easy.

The display is flashing HO, what does this mean?

I was wondering the same thing. This is what I found:

The display shows "HO" or "Hd." What does this mean?
HO" or "Hd" means the dishwasher's cycle time is being extended while it is heating water. At certain points in the wash cycle, the dishwasher uses hotter water to ensure a clean load of dishes. If it detects that the water is not hot enough, it will heat it.

If you're seeing "HO" or "Hd" frequently, check the temperature of the water available to your dishwasher. It's best to do this at the sink closest to it, allowing the hot water to run until it reaches its maximum temperature before you test it with a thermometer. For best results, water should be not less than 120°F.

Dishwasher malfunction

Hi,

The flashing light indicates that the control did not sense a 3 degree temperature rise with an 8 minute test. There are many reasons this could happen with a working heater. I put together a page that shows the reasons and you might be able to do about it and again how to reset the control so you can use it. Depending on how deep you want to dig into the issue or get a new one is up to you. I would weigh in how much you like the current machine overall against how much a new trouble free unit might be. The best one out there today in my book by far is the KitchenAid,

Dishwasher is on and running a load. It is flashing HO??

The "HO" means it's trying to heat the water to the appropriate temperature before proceeding in the cycle. It's totallly normal, and can go on for 20 minutes or so... if you run your sink faucet to clear the line of hot water first, it will reduce the time it takes to heat the water

Our jenn-Air built in dishwasher smells foul and has since the first time we used it 4 months ago. we have tried bleach, vinegar, finish brand dishwaher cleaner, less soap, cascade soap, running every day,...

We had similar type of problem (as well as residual water always left in bottom) and after pulling out the dishwasher, found that the drainage tube was incorrectly installed by contractor. It was laying on the floor behind it with a only a slight rise to the garbage disposal inlet. I suspect this contributed to sewer odors as well a water back flowing into the dishwasher. I disconnected drainage tube so that it went up 24+" and then connected to garbage disposal (creates a loop that blocks sewer odors and back flow conditions). I also cleared out the filter at bottom of inside the dishwasher. The Use & Care Guide suggested using baking soda in China/Crystal mode for 10 minutes, opening the front door and letting it sit overnight. I repeated that for 3 nights and it did clear up the remaining odor. Don't know if this will help your issue or not. Good luck!
