My laptop went off and I have no recovery disc as this laptop was given to me some time ago , I messed about trying to get it on and as I havnt got a password it came up file corrupt and to repair use recovery disc which I havnt got

Note: the recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original
software content that is installed when you purchase your notebook.
You can try ALT+F10 or CTRL+F10 during the initial boot cycle. This should prompt
the laptop to access the recovery partition on the hard drive.
If it doesn't work :
Activate BIOS Setup Utility, press <F2> during POST.
Check the BIOS settings.
a Check to see if "Acer disc-to-disc" function is enabled or not. b Make sure the [Acer D2D Recovery] setting in [Main] is [Enabled]. c Exit the BIOS Setup Utility and save changes. The system will reboot.
Enter the first recovery cd, and choose the option to format the hard drive and install a fresh copy of windows. Then enter the second recovery cd when it asks. It should have an option of formatting the drive when you put in the recovery cds. There is not that much that can go wrong, since you want to delete everything anyway. Hope that helps :).
