Here is what helped mine. I was using cheap batteries that were like 8 for $2. As soon as I switched to Energizer it powered on and worked fine. I would suggest switching to a battery made for high energy devices. My boyfriend says that the same thing worked for him in high school when a CD player stopped working correctly.

Why does my camera not capture any picture? Whichever mode I use, it does not capture any picture regardless of how many times I click the button.

Flash flicker is the camera trying to get enough light to focus, It occurs when you press the shutter release part of the way down.
Try the same thing outside, ensure you press the shutter real ease all the way down. If it still does not fire, switch the lens to manual focus (sliding switch on the side of the lens, move from A to M) If the camera shoot then, the camera is struggling to auto focus.

Still Pictures

the still pictures are actually single frame MPEG movies with 7 seconds of audio. You should capture them the same way you get movies off the tape into the PC and just capture the frame.

Set the tape at the point from where you want to start capturing in PC. Connect the handycam and the PC with the USB cable. (USB-Mode appears on the handycam LCD / viewfinder.) Select the desired capture format and Click Next. (Leave it to recommended setting if you are not sure.) The dialog box now displays the Start Capture and End Capture buttons on the left and preview window on the right. Play the tape on the handycam. The video from handycam should appear in the preview window of WMM. Click the Start Capture button to start capturing the video. Click End Capture to pause or stop recording. Click the Finish button. Can my camcorder work with imovie and if so how do i get my computer to get download my video?

Open iMovie and set it to capture DV. (Click the camera shaped icon opposed to the siscor scissor shape) When you see a blue screen that says (camera connected) and the image pops on screen of image from tape on camcorder set in play mode, you hit the import button and it begins to capture digital movie using DV compression of whatever you have on tape. You should be able to control your camcorder with the video controllers underneath the project window to make selections for the in and outpunts on the tape you wish to capture. Then switch to edit mode by clicking on the scissor button and import the movies you just captured or use them from the clips menu, etc. renedr movie back to tape, if you wish by clicking back and forth from edit mode (scissors) and capture mode (camera silo) and render to and from tape.

Why does the camera take so long to take a picture?

You may be pressing the shutter all the way down at once. This forces the camera to focus, make exposure adjustments, and capture the image all at once. By pressing the shutter button partially to focus, then the rest of the way to capture the image, your camera can process pictures more quickly. You can turn on quick shot mode to take pictures quickly.

If you are taking a picture in Uncompressed Tiff mode, the camera takes longer to process the image. Tiff images create large files and can take approximately 32 seconds to process. If you are trying to capture large, high quality images that you can print, try setting the camera to HyPict mode instead of Tiff mode.
