SanDisk Sansa Express MP3 player stands at Sandisk logo!

When I power on it stands at SanDisk logo for few seconds and goes off. When I connect it to computer, SanDisk logo comes on and goes off for for every few(5) seconds. Not getting charged as well.
I tried doing rest by pressing the middle select button and Vol+ button. Still didn't work.
Can someone help??

    I have tried connecting micro SD card it didnt come up by itself. Then I poweron. Again it stays at SanDisk logo for few secs and goes off. Even if I connect to computer, I could see only SanDisk logo. Please help me...

    I am not able to download the firmware usign the SansaUpdaterInstall.exe. Can you please let me know the link to download the latest firmware directly.

    I have downloaded the firmware upgrade from the link mentioned in the above comment and tried upgrading. But I am it is not upgrading the firmware. The steps I followed are
    1.I have downloaded the firmware from the link http://mp3support.sandisk.com/firmware/e...
    2. I have first connected the mp3 player to the computer with "hold" and holding the (-) volumen button press, do this until the computer ask to search drivers.
    3.Once the installation is completed, i have clicked on finish button.
    4. Then I have run the exe SansaExpressUpdater.exe. But this exe is not doing anything. Its not upgrading the firmware.
    Please let me know the steps I followed are proper, and suggest me.

    When powering on , the sansa logo appears for a few seconds , then the unit powers off.

    I tried holding the power/menu button and the volume + as sugested , still powers off after a few seconds.

Used a paper clip to confuse it by slipping it into the card slot. it rest and now works great. I guess I should get a card. I tried the rest of the fir ware but the system never say it.

You will need to get a micro sd card (it can be a dummy) and insert it into the slot on the side of the mp3 player. If you do not have one, you can use one of the round edges of a paper clip (be careful) to get it to come on. When you put either in, it should come on automatically, but if not, just press the power button. This should work.

its easy, first must to connect de mp3 player to the computer with "hold" and holding the (-) volumen button press, do this until the computer ask to search drivers on the internet, say yes, after installation download the next file http://mp3support.sandisk.com/firmware/express/express01.01.05a.zip
unzip and run SansaExpressUpdater.exe, then the program gonna a ask to format your mp3 player, say yes and let it repair your player.

Is really easy, but, is hard to me write in english, so, i hope you understand, any cuestion go to this direction (is in spanish, if you can read spanish is gonna be more easy repair your mp3 player):

You need to reset your sansa for it to be in order again.

Learn how to reset the your various San Disk models;

Resetting a Sansa Fuze+, Clip+, c200, e200, or e200R player:

1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power/Menu button.
3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.


Resetting a Sansa View, Fuze, or Clip player:

1. Slide and hold the Power switch up for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power switch.
3. To turn the player on, slide the Power switch up then release instantly.

Resetting a Sansa Express player:

NOTE: The device can be either ON of OFF.

1. Press-and-hold the Volume Up (+) and Select buttons simultaneously for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the buttons.

If resetting doesn't solve the problem, please let me know for more assistance.

How do you shut it off

Press the power button for a few seconds until the Sansa logo shows up on the screen. Make sure it's not connected to your computer, the Sansa will not turn off if it's connected.

It shows Sandisk logo and freezes there

Remove the SD card and try this;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.
