Question about Cosco First Ride Deluxe

Your Phenom AM2+ build

Ekse,

How did your recent AM2+ build go? I think you were going to use a Phenom chip and either extended64 XP or Vista 64bit. I am curious as I'm going to upgrade my AM2 box as well when I get done with the wife's new PC. I'm thinking of using 8GB of RAM since I want this to be my gaming platform. And the OS has to support that much RAM. Vista can only handle 2GB unless it's riding on a 64 bit OS, any more than that on Vista 32 and you have instant problems.

BTW, from what I've read and seen so far, I think I'm going to put the Windows7 Beta on her machine as it looks very stable in the build 7000 version. I like what they've done with the Start Menu and Task Bar. Funny that it looks more and more like Linux all the time.

This is my perspective on Windows7: It's Vista SP3 Gold with a facelift and a stable OS based on the Windows Server 2008 OS. I'd still like to see them switch over to a new File Allocation Table that's more Linux and Apple. They have to get away from file fragmentation at some point.... that was supposed to happen with Vista. It also looks like Aero is close to concept with Windows7, I still don't see the ability to write notes to your self that are persistent on the backside of the program window that was promised with Aero either; unless I missed that somewhere.

Thanks in advance for the specs, such as your MB choice, sound card and display adapter.

I have the Creative sound card riding in a PCI slot though in my AM2 box. I don't know what to expect from frame rates if its on the PCIe bus, do you?

What games are you playing that can use all that RAM. My x64XP doesn't hog my ram either. I ended up with matched 1GB modules from Corsair and they disappointed me as well. I really could not over clock the timings at all, could not even get a boot screen. So, I've been looking at the 2GB modules too. Asus had initially recommended these chips for the MB I have in there and kept downgrading the Ram for them to the point they don't even suggest 6400 anymore although that is what I have running. I do know this MB I have is pure ****. It has to be the North Bridge chipset. So, I have been looking around/shopping around that is. I think I'll take this MB to the target range and blow it away. Here in the open West we all carry guns and the target range is on the side of a hill. I know the EU is way different on gun onwership. but out here we have real problems with Mountain Lions, that are actually Jaguars with blond fur. Its always open season on Mountain Lions and they are a problem as they will attack children. Nevada has a wildlife management program that has increased the population of Elk and Big Horn Sheep to the point it attracks a lot of hunter from outisde the US and Neavda in particular. These people are trophy hunters and they take a lot of heat for doing that but were I live they pour money into our local economy.

Just had my oldest girl get married and I'm retiring some old debt from when I was seriously sick from a heart attack. Once I have that all behind me I can spend more on technology and dump the dumb hardware I have into a consumer orieneted box and sell it locally. I've got three PCs here I have to get rid of as theyre just taking up space. They're only worth a few hundred a piece including the XP licenses in them. I've considered selling the XP licenses alone, but MS keeps making the discs. I expected them to stop stamping out XP discs and then I could sell the licenses at a reasonalble price. But each one sold one way or another will mean another MB and Graphics card for me.

I just put a Radeon 4650 on an Asus board with the AMD 750 chpset. I'm going to install Far Cry 2 on it and push the settings to the max and see how the pair match up. I'm using the RealTek onboard sound for it at the moment. I'm building this for the wife who does art on her PC and tweaks her photography that wins her awards every year. I still think I'll clone the hard drive and put that in reserve and then load the Windows7 Beta and see how that rides on it. I expect great things from this Windows7 Beta build 7000, but I said that about Vista too.

I keep seeing these hard drive prices fall too on the 1TB and know that the 2 adn 3 TB are around the corner. I think the geometry limit was something near or around 4TB and Seagate will have to or has invented a new desnsity method.

Then there is the economics driving the marketplace. I soon expect to see prices fall out and wonder if Asus MSI and others will even roll out new boards or not. Prices at discounters like TigerDirect and NewEgg here in the States dipped but were way away from down. I know there are vendors those of you in the EU use. How is this economy affect the street prices and wholesale prices you see?

Actually I just swapped out my 6000+ for the phenom.

I currently have:
Asus M2n-sli
4GB DDR2
Phenom 9650
Pci-e 8600 GT, two of them.

I just ordered two 2GB DDR 800 modules for 30 euro ram prices are really coming down, food costs more than ram soon.

so soon I may have 6GB of Ram, but I'm having some issues with my current rams so I though Id give a try to 2GB modules and see how it goes, 6GB of ram isn't a bad thing though but I don't think I need that much.

I also ordered the
CREATIVE SB X-FI TITANIUM - FATAL1TY PRO PCI-E sound card
heres a short review of the card http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1506124/creative_labs_sb_x_fi_titanium_fatal1ty_pro_pcie/

Sata Drives I have a 1000GB drive and a 500GB drive, samsung.

Xp 64bit currently, I have had issues with my build in sound card for months so I finally got the best sound card available.

I recently removed the cover of my maxi cosi priori car seat to wash it. Now I cannot work out how to put it back on. Basically I have unhooked both shoulder straps that I think were previously threaded...

Good Afternoon

Go to www.maxi-cosi.com and select the CabrioFix carseat to download a replacement instruction manual for details of how to replace the fabric.

The harness should not have been completely removed from the carseat in order to remove the fabric. If the harness has been completely removed we cannot advise that you re-thread it due to the safety implications of it being incorrectly done. In this instance please contact the customer service department on 01284 413 141 Mon-Fri 8.30-4.30 to discuss the carseat being sent to our engineers for them to re-thread the harness.

Good Evening

Go to www.maxi-cosi.com and select the country you are in. Now choose the Maxi Cosi Priori XP from the list of Group 1 carseats, and download a copy of the instructions for the seat. Included in the instructions is a step by step guide for removing the fabric. Make sure you don't pull the harness out as well!

Straps on my maxi cosi tobi car seat is stuck, can't loosen it

Hi, This sounds like either the harness is twisted at the back or inside, or there is a build up of dirt etc that could have fallen through the **** strap area. I would suggest that you go to this link and contact the supplier who will be able to clarify this for you. http://www.maxi-cosi.com/maxicosi/forms/contact.aspx?mode=contact&language=gb-en I hope this helps.

Fixing maxicosi seat to base

Hi,

If you have a Cabrio Fix carseat, underneath the carseat should be two silver metal bars that slot into the base, if these are not on the carseat then you have the Cabrio model which is not compatible with the base.

I hope this helps.

You know what I do.. If we solve the problem with remote assistance, I mostly take them back to fixya if already closed, then on the my profile page open the write a review link on the chat for them.

Yeah no problem.

Btw, I think it solved on its own I haven't changed anything but its only showing one email in all messages now instead of duplicates.

Have you checked to make sure you're ground is properly connected?

I'm sure if you did the engine swap you probably already have but i've seen a few people make this common mistake.
