Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

No bootable device detected

If you strike F1, the system retries as said in the comment. That does'nt solve anything. Rather strike F2 which allows to enter the setup menus of your computer.
In this area you should understand what you are doing. Any update of setupdata may prevent further restart. At least take note of values and changes. You exit setup via a question "update Y/N". Then the computer restarts.
Anyway, in the setup menu you may inspect the devices and see if you the system identifies the disk. If not it may come from a bad connection of hard disk (sata pins, ...) or from low level disk information (format information).
With setup menu you may get in the boot order menu, that allows for the selection of an alternate boot media. You may boot on an installation media, ( install DVD generally, like originall windows install DVD) in order to understand and repair the situation, or from a rescue system like UBCD. You may also try Ubuntu from the CD without installing, just to verify if you may see the disk in the configuration.

Operating system not found

Hello,

I recommend going into your BIOS and making sure your system is detecting the hard drive(s). If not, recheck your cable connection at the drive and the board. If it is detecting the drive, make sure it is set to be one of the boot drives(I would make it 2nd to the CD-ROM) and reboot your server. If you get the same error, you will need to reinstall the os.
Good Luck

Setup did not find any harddisks

This usually means thehard disk has failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controlleris faulty. First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the harddrive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an USB mass storage device and you cannot open the various folders and fileson this drive, then this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

We have a Power edge 840 that can't not detect any HDD in starting process, although power and data led are on. Can you help me to solve this problem? Thank you very much! Best regard!

Check both the POWER and the DATA cables between the motherboard and the HDD (Hard Disk Drive).
Remove them, and then re-insert them.

Try connecting the DATA cable to an alternate connector on the motherboard.

Remove the HDD, and connect it to another computer,
to see if the HDD can be detected on that computer.
If not, the HDD is the problem.

Smart start utility doesn't detect controller disk

Lets have a few more details and see if we can get it solved. Is this a new server that has never been used? If used, was it used before by you successfully and you are just now having the problem on reloading? What version of SmartStart are you running? What type of drive controller is in the server? How are the drives connected to the system? By the on board controller or via controller card? Also, check the BIOS settings to see if the system is setup to boot from the controller you have in the system and there are no interupt conflicts. Kenneth
