Maytag neptune dryer heats but wont tumble

When you spin it by hand, is there resistance? Can you hear the motor turning? In fact, when you switch it on and it starts to heat, can you hear the motor turning, or is it silent?

Sounds like the belt is broken, in which case there will be little resistance.

If there is resistance, it may be the motor or circuitry controlling the motor.

Is there a heating over load cut out switch on the tumble dryer to be reset as it will not heat , I have cleaned filters and condencer

there is a thermostat (about the size of a quarter) located by the heating element that could cause this. It controls the heating element.

Not spinning

A dryer has a lot of parts to make it heat, tumble and blow air. If it quit tumbling there are many things that could be wrong. You could start with checking the thermal fuse or belt switch or door switch, from there your into timers and motors. If you have electrical experience go for it :-) unplug first ;-)

Whirlpool dryer awz 121 only tumbles counter clockwise. This is a dryer that briefly reverses direction, so the only tumbling is when it reverses. The rest of the time, the dryer makes a noise but d

You may want to contact a professional that will have the diagrams for your machine online. there are some here or you can go to another site. like (Just answer.) Be more specific about your problem. It can be fixed . There's no worries.

Are you saying that it does not heat up either ?In addition with not tumbling clockwise ?

Disconnect the dryer first. You can remove the top and front of the dryer to check to see what is happening. If it does not heat . You may need to replace the temperature control relay. If that does not work , the heating elements themselves may need to be replaced.

For the tumbling problem, they also have relay switches that go out.
BUT, if it is tumbling to one side and keeps tumbling then that will probably be enough to dry your clothes. As long as it is not too heavily loaded.

My dryer heats up but does not tumble. I replaced

Sounds like worn tub back bearing.
take the belt off and spin the tub by hand to see if it is binding.
check that the pulley isnt loose on the tub back and also the motor pulley, feel if the motor spins free.
Finally check the tub itself for objects poking through or lodged in the outer tank.
Good luck

Tumble dryer spins, but doesn't heat up

You need an ohm meter to do needed checks. Unplug dryer from power,,, then look for sensors and locate the heat coils. Using the ohm meter, check each device by connecting meter to the posts ( your looking for an open curcuit) Note that when you touch the leads of the ohm meter together, the gage will move? This is closed condition, and if the needle did not move, this is called "open". When you find a sensor or heat coil that reads open, that part is bad.
Now make sure there is not a tripped breaker in the fuse panel of the house,,, because even though the dryer is 220 volt,,, 110 volt runs the tumble motor while the other 110 volt curcuit runs the heat side ( so one will work without the other)
