Try the following:
Plug the amp back in.
Turn up the volume.
Reconnect the speakers.
Read the troubleshooting section of your instruction manual.
Post a question here that includes what amp you have and what you have done recently that may have caused the failure.

My 2 front surround speakers on my Yamaha HTR-6040 quit working. Any suggestions?

Look at the amp for disconnected wires. If OK then the amplifier may have blown output transistors.

How can i repair amp

Looks like the amplifier output transistors have blown (hence the pop). Quite expensive too repair - I would have a look on eBay for a cheap used but working Kenwood receiver, it would probably work out cheaper.

Centre channel pops

Popping is usually a sign that the output transistor on the amp (center channel) has blown - quite expensive to repair. eBay is good for picking up cheap but fully working receivers

How intelligent is Pioneer's vsx amp/rec "power off" protecting mode? Hi, I would like to have an answer to the foregoing title in order to find out if it's worth repairing my Pioneer...

When you remove boards, you may be breaking a circuit somewhere that is causing the shutdown. Pioneer uses rear panel jacks for ground points a lot, and if even one of these screws is out it can cause it to shut down.

Tanaka htr 5660 was working fine. Not sure what button I hit, but sub and rear surround quit working. I have followed troubleshooting guides and to no avail. Connections are all fine as well

You must have hit the DIRECT button . In this mode it produces pure stereo sound by shutting down the multichannel Digital Sound Processor (DSP). Only your front Left & Right speakers will work

Arcam avr 300 keeps switching off intermitently, and the red standby light flashes.

I wonder if anyone can help explain what the likely problem will be with my Arcam AV300 amp. Whilst watching TV for no particular reason an extremely loud (what i can only describe as feedback) sound comes out of my B & W speakers for approximately 3 seconds, then silence as the Arcam switches off, I’m then unable to switch it back on for a period of time, (this varies between 5minutes to a few hours) when it eventually switches back on everything seems to be working perfectly. This has happened quite a number of times although it’s intermittent & occurring every 1 - 6 weeks.

Cant get equalizer to work with my receiver

This might work fish76, The EQ needs a in & out source to operate correctly? If you have audio device connected to an aux input disconnect that & connect the EQ to that audio device & then plug the EQ to the Sony receiver AUX input. The tape monitor is the most important source for hooking up an EQ device, so you are very limited on a total receiver or amp tonal connection source. The bottom line is you can only use the EQ if another audio source to plug into it & the EQ plugs to your pre-amp input on the back of your rec or amp

I have a fender g dec 30 amp. one day it just quit working

The most common cause of failure in these amps are solder breaks around the power supply capacitors and / or any of the front mounted potientiometers. If you can solder and can safely work around high voltage, get the amp chassis out of the cabinet, get some strong reading glasses or magnifying glass and start looking for cracks. Flow solder across the breaks or wire jumpers.
BE CAREFUL - HIGH VOLTAGE
