Change the source on the Philips/Magnavox to switch between satellite and movies (warning: this particular Philips/Mag cannot process HD Satellite receiver boxes). You can switch sources by using the Magnavox remote and pressing 0-2. Then press ch down until the display says either L1 or L2 - whichever input the satellite is connected to. Another warning: For my instructions to work, you must have a non-HD satellite receiver, and you must run a red, white and yellow cable from the satellite box to the Magnavox instead of a standard coaxial cable wire (and then, of course, run a second set of red, white and yellow cables from the Magnavox to your TV).

If you are using the composite cables (RWY) make sure the red and white are plugged into the audio jacks and NOT the component cable plugs (RGB.) If you have the red audio cable plugged into the red component plug this will cause issues, especially with the sound.

How do I connect my Magnavox DVD/VHS player to my Element Flat screen TV?

Do you have a newer TV or a older one lets start with a newer models does your tv have 3 or more jacks on the back or front you should see a RED, YELLOW and WHITE if you have a HDTV you should see more. (LETS HOOK UP) Did your DVD/VCR come with a cables if not you will need to buy at least 2 they are called RCA cables Lets start with the dvd/vcr combo on the back you should see a (LINE OUT) this is where playback or your picture and sound come out. On the back of the TV you should see a (LINE IN) this is where you plug it in to. RED goes to RED, WHITE goes to WHITE and YELLOW goes to YELLOW. To Record you will need to hook up the line in on your combo and the line out to your tv. ( IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER T.V WITH NONE OF THOSE JACKS ) you will need to buy a RF- MODULATOR the are cheap it is a box that let you hook a cable wire to a little box and the RCA jacks to you combo and you will turn your tv to channel 3 or 4

I dont really know whats wrong with it when ii try to get it to copy a vhs to advd it wont work?

I don't know what recorder machine you have or what your hooking up to do your transferring. You cant convert VHS movie to DVD by plugging in RCA jacks from VHS player to DVD recorder. DVD reads digital and VHS does not because it reads analog and out put analog. you have to covert VHS movie into digital in order to transfer to DVD. There is a program you can buy call Roxio Easy. great stuff, cost 59.00 buck for your desk top computer, everything you need is there to transfer VHS to DVD...hope that help some, good luck.

VCR, DVD, TV Connection

first let me say that a dvd player and a dvd recorder are different. the dvd player can only play dvd while a dvd recorder can both play and record dvd that is said. what i understand from what you write is currently is - out of your tv box into your dvd player then out of your player into your tv........ ok some dvd has two connections. line one and line two if your tv box is in line one then you should plug the rca cable in line two in. then you select line two on the dvd player then plug the other end to your vcr in line out so that is out of your vcr into line two of your dvd player.(some times one of the connection is at the front of your player hidden) if your dvd player only have one connection then you would have to plug out your tv box and replace it with the vcr cable and when you finish coping your vhs tape you plug in back your tv box to your dvd player. hope i could help.......... Getting a dvd player to record vhs to dvd

The RF converter takes the Red/White/Yellow as INPUTS and converts them to either channel 3 or 4. You need to go the other way. You need a tuner or another VCR to convert from RF (channel 3 or 4) to a standard AV signal (Red/White/Yel).

Samsung CXD2512 TV/VCR Combo...Cannot hook up DVD player

We also don't have a remote. We hooked a DVD/VCR combo to the Samsung combo by attaching the cable from the cable line to the DVD player and an additional cable from DVD to TV and it used to work but after we lost the control, the DVD can only be listened to but not seen. The VHS from the DVD player works perfectly though.

When we had the remote (before connecting the other combo) we used line-in to see a DVD or VHS using the yellow red and white cables from the Samsung to the other player.
