SOURCE: The hot water will not come on intermitently. I

if your on a private well, it sounds as though your loosing enough water pressure to shut the heater off,.(which is right before the water pump comes on),....tankless heaters turn on by sensing water flow, and of course off when flo stops,......water pressure tanks often need to be re-charged with air for pressure to stay even,....does your water pressure fluctuate?

SOURCE: My gl4 ariston the only way it will heat water is

Occasionally, the high temperature limit shut off device may trigger and shut the

system down. This occurs when water temperature exceeds 190° F and shuts off

power to the heating element. The shut off device may also trigger from a power

outage or electrical storm.

To reach the thermostat:

1. Pry off the round cover plate (V Fig. 3/1) from its right hand edge (W Fig. 3/1) with

a small flat-head screwdriver.

2. Remove the Phillips screw revealed beneath the round cover plate.

3. The cover (C Fig. 3/1) can now be removed by pulling out its left-hand edge. When

reassembling, work in the opposite way being careful to insert the tongue of the

cover into the slot.

4. Firmly press reset button (B Fig. 4). Reconnect power.

5. IMPORTANT: Check the operation of the thermostat, turn temperature dial from

high to low, if the red light does not go off on low setting, turn off power supply and

call a service person to replace the thermostat.

6. If the system works, place dial setting to desired setting. Note: a lower setting is

more economical and reduces the risk of scalding. Replace cover plate.
CAUTION: Call a technician if the high limit needs to be reset frequently.

Check if unit has power to the plug. If so, could be bad heater element or bad thermostat. Also could be reset button on thermostat and yes, the reset button is different from on/off switch. Element about $38, thermostat about $30 from www.plumbingsupply.com

Thanks for stopping by:

A2 error on your Bosch water heater means "Fault in the flue gas limiter"

This can be caused by several things:
The gasket on the flue gas collector may be dislodged/leaking.
Check/Remove/Reseat the gasket.
It will not reset until about a two hour cool down.

Also - check the overheat sensor fuse wire - it may have gotten hot and melted the jacket and/or been dis-colored.

Finally - there is a retrofit kit "repair" that can be obtained by calling them directly.

1-800-642-3111 and request the "FLUE GAS LIMITER RETROFIT", Part NO. 8-700-400-032. This should solve many error code situations and get you on your way again.

I discovered Whirlpool hot water heater was displaying E02 error code. Followed directions in manual to possibly correct problem, but E02 code continued to be displayed. What is the remedy for this?

Error E02 indicates that the water temperature exceeded high limit.

Switch off the house circuit breakers dedicated to the water heater and then press the reset button located behind the control panel on the water heater.

Switch house circuit breakers back on.

If error persists, call a service engineer.

My Ariston 4 gallon water heater is given out hot dirty water?... Any Suggestions?

1) Dirty water implies degraded metal inside unit:
The anode rod protects metal parts. Once anode is depleted, metal parts react with water.

I am not getting any hot water, only cold water, when I run my hot water taps. I have an Ariston Bravo water heater. Normally I have permanent hot water at any time. My central heating seems to be...

Sounds like the by-pass valve diaphragm. This valve detects that hot water is being drawn off at the tap and then diverts the mains input water across the heat exchanger. Very often it's the diaphragm inside the valve which is punctured or split. This can be replaced [depending on model] if you take apart the valve
. Remove the front panel and lower the control panel. The valve is at the bottom left of the boiler
Suggest turning off the service taps to the two heating pipes and the cold mains inlet pipes before tackling the valve
