My computer says that my cd drive doesnt exsist any more. I opened it with the pin in the small hole, but it was never jammed. The problem seems internal and I dont know what to do.

I) i want u to dismantle your computer of open computer tower and see the connection that are going to ur cd drive and to the motherboard

you will find: two cables i) data cable ii) power cable

try to remove data cable(flat ribbon cable) from both end(that is on the cd drive and mother board-remember the way ur removing them and place them again). or if you have another data cable try place that instead using the same cable(their may be problem with ur old cable.....)

try to remove the power cable(it is bulge with fat wires- green , red, yellow ,... colored) and replace it again.....

here i'm trying to make sure that there is no loose contact in your power, data cable connections.... and now restart system... and see whether your cd drive is indicating

ii) we can even try whether ur cd drive is detected in bios by pressing f8 or f10 or del keys on keyboard from the time u power on ur system(remember continously tap) and u will enter into bios try to explore bios and see whether u can find something like " CD DRIVE, some numericals or model name of cd drive ......"

if you can trace it out then u dont have any problems with ur CD DRIVE

iii) at last i would suggest(if nothing works) to format or reload your OS or format system freshly]

Thankin you

If you have Windows XP, there's a flaw in the Registry that sometimes blocks your system from loading the CD drive - please try the following (but only if you're running windows XP!)

[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class
Key Name: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Value Data: [Delete All Value Data from UpperFilters and LowerFilters]
Note: Do not delete the Key or the Multi-String Values. Delete only the data values.
Exit Registry and Reboot

This worked for me when my drive went missing, so I hope it works for you too!

CD DRIVE DOOR BUTTON JAMMED ON AX5900

You should see a small 'pin hole' on the face of the CD drive, usually near the eject button itself, but not always. Straighten a paper clip (med size is best) and insert into the hole. You will feel a little resistance (this is good) continue pushing the paper clip straight in until the door pops open. Almost all CD/DVD drives have this "manual open" pin hole for just such cases. Alternately you can open My Computer, point to the CD/DVD icon, right click and choose the "eject" option, this will open the tray if the physical button has stopped working.

MHC-RG270 cd draw won't open

cd drawers often jam.
In the cd/dvd drawer you will see a small hole. Use a blunt pin or a straightened-out paper clip, insert it into the small hole and gently press. The drawer should then click open.

Try cleaning the plastic drive teeth/mechanism with a light drop of oil. Press the drawer button and it should then close. Press it again to see if the drawer opens as per normal.

If your cd drive plays a dvd as per normal but doesn't open when the button is pressed, continue using a blunt pin/paperclip. If the plastic open-close mechanism is worn or damaged there's very little you can do about it expect replace the entire drive.

There should be a small pin-hole on the laptop's DVD drive. Find a needle or a paper clip and push it into the pin hole. This should either manually eject the disc or pop open.

If you do not have a pinhole on your DVD drive, go to My Computer > DVD Rom Drive

Right click on your DVD Rom Drive, and click "Eject".

This should remove the disc.

Hope this helped!

Inserted disk into draw on my dell computer and noe it is jammed

There's a very small hole on the front of the cd\dvd drive you need a long stiff piece of wire or a pin and push it quite hard into the hole, which should push the draw open.

How do I put in a CD? Pushed eject button but nothing happens.

It is possible that the drive is temporarily jammed. There should be a release switch, a small hole the size of a pin.use a paperclip to open. If it doesn't work after that, replace the drive.

Cd rom door wont open

Do you see blinking light on your CD Drive. If not, you may need to check you power supply to CD Drive.
If yes, may be door looks jam, opening up once may remove any dust to smooth it out again. To open up there is small pin hole on cd drive, generally on the right side, use needle and press it through the pin hole, it will eject the CD Door and you can pull it out completely.

Cd jammed in top drive

On almost every CD/DVD drive there is a small hole next to the eject button. Take a fine needle (be careful) and with a cork on the other end to save you from hurting yourself - push the needle into the hole until the cd drawer opens. Do this with the machine swithced off. Then remove the cd.
I hope this helps you.

How can I eject my Cd from the drive?

If your machine is a windows machine, there would be a small hole in the CD/DVD ROM. Insert a pin into it, The drive would open. You can pull the drive manually after that.

I assume you have a CD/DVD jammed into the drive ...

Most CD/DVD drives have a small hole at the front .. carefully push in one arm of a paperclip (you may have to go in 10mm or so) .. the drawer will then release with the power off ...
